Mod Party : Grond gets Headers and AOA <pix> - Dialup = PAINFUL DEATH
Grond install is completed!!
*** OK. My Impressions of the Abs of Aluminum and the Dynatech headers. ***
AOA : Solid. All creaks and shivering are history. Car feels rock solid over uneven and frankly horrible pavement (as
exists around Hartford). It changes lanes with a twitch and there is a marked improvement in side to side movement and
frame flex. Because Grond is slammed, I felt every movement of the chassis. That's gone now. Grond feels like 1 car instead
of 2 halves as it did before.
Abs of Aluminum from Jeff at Elite Engineering : EG recommends that you buy one today!!!!
Dynatech SuperMaxx : What can I say?? THEY SCREAM LIKE A BANSHEE!!! I LOVE THEM!!! UNBELIEVEABLE SOUND and major SOTP horsepower and
torque increase. Permagrin was so wide that I woke up this morning with it still on my face!!!
Deep, throaty, authoritive and LOUD!! Yet, stick my A4 in 4th and I'm back to almost stealth mode. Best of both worlds.
They have REALLY woken up my Stingers. Bill Curlee and Nomadman2001 were about 500 feet behind me on the highway (in the
rain with their windows turned UP!) when I downshifted into 2nd gear at 60mph and went WOT. They said it SCREAMED - over
Bill's own Stainless Works Headers!!!!
WooHoo!!! I love it, I love it, I love it.
Dynatech Supermaxx header system from Nate at Corvette Garage : EG recommends you buy one today!!!
Over the next few days, I will post my impressions as I get accostomed to the swivelling heads and snapped necks!!
So for all you folks that are on the fence over the AOA (or Abs of Steel - even stronger!) and Dynatech headers - get off
the fence and buy 'em.
For the Northeast crew - hook up with Nomadman2001 and Connecticut to get all you mods installed (big and small). They are awesome guys and really know their stuff.

Next is Z06 springs and Hotchkis sways. Then sticky tyres and that will be my suspension done.
Then heads/cam. After that - another Procharger.

You need to take a little road trip to Bear Mountain and I can help you test Gronds handling .

Hey EG what size plate did you go with? I plan on getting a ceramic coated one. Anyone know the differences between the stainless steel and aluminum? Thanks, Barry

Jeff also has a 3/8 inch Aluminum and a 0.134 inch Stainless Steel plate - all either coated or uncoated.
I went with the 1/4 inch because I do not auto x and it's the lightest at 9.6lbs of the 3 variants. I already did Reflectix on my center tunnel and Frost King/Dynamat everywhere else so heat was not my reason for doing it.
I believe that Stainless Steel is the stiffest of the 3 variants. It is also the heaviest at 15.4. Check with Jeff to be sure.

Not sure from Lyme, but it's about 40 minutes from the Danbury mall if that helps.

Great Work England Green!!! I don't see any neon tubes down there though. Did they have to remove them to put the abs in there.
I'd love to see Grond in person. Next time we get together at Bear Mt., it would be great if you joined us!!!
