So who went and how did it go? What was the track like? I see Steve Row did well....11's, congrats Steve, that ZO6 is amazing. Anyone else, Edgar, Ellis???
I went and met Ellis, Elliot, his brother Evan and Mike (Wheelz).
There were many Corvette Challenge Challene racers there. MANY of the guys from the south but I have to say I am a little dissappointed only I from the north.
Oh well. I was on new Nittos and my first impression is, big mistake, huge!!!
I am still learning proper pressure and launch with them but the my best 60' for the day was 1.77 but as high as 2.02.
I lost in my class in the semi final by .04. Both of us spun but I guess I spun the most :(
Best Challenge driver of the day was Ernie King form MD. He won his class and went to the final in Top Eliminator which pinned the winners of each class together.
Ernie's bigggest win came when he beat a fully loaded 8.53 second PRO car complete with ELECTRONICS (they really got stop this) when the comp care went red after seeing Ernie hit a good light (I think it was like .50x).
Row was Wow with a new best et in a stock plus air cleaner 11.79 run in the 02 Z. Folks, it AIN'T the car, it is STEVE. If you remember, he pulled awesome numbers with his previous C5 as well. Way to go Mr. Row (pronunced like Wow with an R :))

Nitto's are just to hard. You got to heat them up so much just to get a decent hook and if the track is alittle bad forget it. Your done.
No matter wnat air pressure or launch RPM use it will be tought to be consistant.
But don't fear you'll be needing new tires in about 70 runs.
I'll never use them again :( ;)
Was hoping to go and take my first runs, but I ended up taking down a tree and working a couple of other honey-do's instead. Only live 20 min. away. Hell. its her car I should have sent her instead. :D
Good Day, beautiful weather... I hit a best mph of 116.9 but the et's were way poor... couldn't get it nearly close enough to match Steve Row's 11.8's in his Z06 with just a modified air box! He made me look like I was sitting still.. he was about the only forum person that I spoke with. The shootout between the CCA and Liberty Vette clubs after the "Main" event was over was interesting.. though the Liberty cars outnumbered the CCA cars, Liberty got elimated early on in the eliminations. At the end, two CCA guys made finals!
Other than that, it was phenomenal to see the funnycarlike ride do a 6. somthing at over 200 mph. What a ride!
There were a bunch of guys from the DC area. Ernie King (2000 FRC) and Vic Behar (1996 LT4) both won their class and went deep into the King of the Hill.
Ernie had to get by Phil (Wheelsup) and Lenny Hall both very experienced drag racers and the Vette with the electronics. There were a lot of cars in Vic's class.
Ranger was running his brand new 2002 Z06 with 500 miles on it. His best was 12.16 on street tires, of course. Do you think it will get faster?!?
DJ Self (Lingenfelter TT) and StreetracerX (DRM 383) were there doing "no time" runs. I wonder why?
Calvin Baltimore was there with his MTI 422. He says he's been breaking transmissions. So, he is going to switch to a built-up automatic.
So many Vettes! Wish I could have met more people.
Edgar, thanks for the compliments, but you are the "Eliminater".
