got a ticket for 70 in a 55 right by the tap brideg. does anyone know what they charge per miles over? thanks

Better to plead not guilty. Most likely you will have a "conference" with the Asst DA or someone else. Really just a 30 second meeting with an offer. If you have a clean record you would be offered a lesser no point violation and fee. Check NYS DMV site for fines, note that they add surcharges as well.

Years ago I was flagged for doing well over the 55 limit on the GCP very early on a weekend morning-late for a fishing trip. Cop had me dead to rights but did me a huge favor and wrote it up at 69MPH. The difference was at 70 or over it went to the insurance company and a moving violation with points. I don't know if the NY law has changed but my guess is that it's worse. Keep your plea under 70 and pay the fine. Good Luck!
