We always had good time at the Bar A event. If it rains you can always bring your DD, but I always brought my Vette rain or shine. They don't melt, despite what some might think.

I was there last saturday to have my borla xpipe put in.
Matt was a really cool dude. I been there numerous times in the past and they always treated me good.
It's a long drive for me but i'm thankful there's a good shop for these cars we can rely on.
Can't wait for their next meet. This time i'm going lol

Quick question for you guys and i'm asking in here because you know the roads around the area where I spend most of my time:
I'm thinking of trading in my '15 z51 with an M7 for a '17 Grand Sport with an auto. Considering that I drive from the Montclair area to Jersey City for work, and sit in bumper to bumper on Rt 3 a lot, I'm thinking the A8 might be better.
thoughts?

Burning Brakes
I lived in the Essex/West Essex County area for most of my life and commuted/drove Bloomfield Avenue for seemingly forever. Now retired, I've lived first in Monmouth County, then Ocean, and now I'm back in Monmouth. To your point, when I lived up in "north Jersey," I had two different manual trans-equipped Corvettes, and really didn't think too miuch about it; but since moving "down the shore," I first got a Porsche with a manual, but wasn't happy with the car or the trans, so I bought an automatic C6. I think that with the traffic in NJ today, for an everyday car an automatic is the way to go. Good luck with your decision. I think the previous poster made a really good point: see if you can get one the way you think you'd want it, and try a daily commute ride with it. I think that will help you with your decision.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate it. My DD is an Audi Q5, which I drive mostly, but on the days that I take the vette, the rt3 ride is a bitch if I can't avoid the traffic. I'm going to test drive the A8 and see how I like it.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

I think everyone who has a Z, should install an x-pipe ASAP lol.
THIS is seriously what the car should sound like from factory.
From factory, the exhaust is pretty loud but obviously it's still has that "muffled" sound. Even WOT. Sounds like the car is choking.
Now the car absolutely screams.
Not that much louder at idle, probably 10% but moderate acceleration you'll notice it louder and when going WOT, you will definitely notice the difference. Probably 40% louder, maybe more.
Maybe not at idle but in WOT, you would think the car has long tubes. It has that "raw" sound to it now. The way it should be.
I don't even care if i gained 0 rwhp, i mainly did this mod for the sound first, then if i picked up power, that's great.
And so far no codes thrown.
Best single mod by far for under 500 bucks.

For those wondering..I believe there is a corvette show in Paramus today...I'll roll in for an hour or two with my curly heads son. Should be fun...if your in the area stop by. http://www.classglasscorvette.com/2222.html
I think it's a the garden state mall...I'm not a member of the club but they were nice enough to email an invitation. Nice fellas...
Btw that black c6 with chromes looks awesome. Good looking cars
Driving in bumper to bumper traffic for more than 20 minutes each way every day makes the automatic A8 the way to go. I prefer manuals and daily drive my corvette but common sense dictates over 20 minutes of bumper to bumper traffic each way and the automatic A8 makes the most sense. I rently test drive one and no question the A8 shifts faster with the paddles or in its own way faster than I could with the manual. I've been driving manuals for forty years and still or I should say finally the computer controlled automatics rule the performance equation and of course the traffic scenario described above. Go test drive both transmissions and decide for yourself...
No real need for paddle shifting the A8 ...it performs better than we could do with a manual. Of course if you enjoy shifting like most of us do...then the few tenths of a second we spend shifting is time well spent....
Sitting in traffic each day for more than 20 minutes at a clip does blow....
I put a deposit down on a new tesla model 3...and keeping y manual c6 z5 ...I'm thinking performance mode, AWD and autonomous mode....under 55 grand...
Go drive the tesla model S in performance and autonomous mode and you ll understand.....makes bumper to bumper traffic a total non event..
Supposedly the p100d which accelerates to 60 mph in 2.39 seconds are his road testers or service loaners....and will be available for sale around the 3 red week of June...(the model 3 releases July this year/ its a little smaller model S )
Going to the Paramus tesla dealer in route 17 north is quite a nice experience....and just call ahead or stop in and take a test drive...they let you drive the cars for as long as you like to get a good feel for the product...
Makes the stick shift vette seem archaic..makes almost every other car in the market seem archaic...
For your commute...consider a tesla model 3 with awd performance and autonomous mode or a pre owned model S. ...p90d as long as it has autonomous mode...
The coolest thing ever was that autonomous mode...and I never thought I'd like it...
