1963 Gran Sport Replicas
I am looking to buy a replica of the 1963 Gran Sport
It seems that a Superformance or a Mongoose are the two top choices
I have some experience with Superformance as I have a Ford GT 40
and I like the car.
Any experience and advise on Gran Sport replicas?

Superformance is absolutely the way to go for an authentic Grand Sport Replica. Check out Hemmings. I think I just saw one in their most recent issue.

Thanks for your response.
I tend to agree that Superformance is the way to go.
I forgot to tell you that I also have a Superformance Shelby Cobra
Daytona Coupe, which is another great car.
It is you and the car, no electronics or driving helps to interfere.
Anyway, I have followed the market for quite some time
There are two Grand Sport Replicas, at Hillbank Motors and one
at Gulf Sport Motorsports.
They go for the same price, i.e. 169,900, and the issue I have is
that they have been on the market for almost a year, at least the
one at Gulf Sports.
But they are the best I guess compared to others, just maybe overpriced?
What do you think?

It does sound a little high, but I am far from an expert on these. I was sniffing around them 2 years ago and the well done brand new ones were in the $150,000 range. It's still alot of money. At the end of the day I just decided against it. I love them but they aren't the real thing. They are reproductions of the Grand Sports. I had a hard time justifying that kind of money, even though they are extremely well done. I ended up buying a nice Gen 2 GTS Viper and a new C7 Z06 for about the same money. I could not find any in Hemmings. I thought I had seen one. Perhaps you can find a lightly used one and save some money.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Have you looked at Duntov Motors? I've seen a couple other their Grands Sports, and they're quite nice. Duntov is one of only two companies licensed by GM to build Grand Sport replicas, Superformance being the other.

Here's a link to the Grand Sport sticky in the C1/C2 General Section of the Forum.

much to the displeasure of Al & Ed from Duntov Mongoose has a GM license and the way I understand it you will be much happier dealing with Mongoose as well

Seems that Superformance is on top of the list
Mongoose is a second also a lower price 30 to 40 k compared to Superformance
Found a Mid America Industries which looks good for 109 k at rkmotors
Any reactions to this car?
