Corvettes at Carlisle

Choice Hotels had two available in Mechanicsburg.
Super 8 Carlisle South has rooms available and they're only 3 miles from the fairgrounds. $159 a night, 5 minute drive. You could still cancel and rebook there. https://www.wyndhamhotels.com/super-...&iata=00065402

Like I always say, just make the reservation for next year as soon as you get home from CAC. A lot easier to make a call to cancel next year than to be hunting around for a hotel at the last minute.
Or, as in the past, I'll be making my reservation for next year when I check out Sunday!

I think you mean "Corvette Only" parking. There are actually 2 lots for Corvette only parking, it sounds like you are describing the lot inside Gate 5. That is where I usually park, it is nice there, but a bit of a hike back to your car at the end of the day. There is another, albeit smaller, Corvette Only parking lot that you enter through Gate 1. This one is right at the edge of the vendor aisles, and not up on a hill. If you have any kind of mobility issues, I would recommend this one over the Gate 5 lot. But like I said, this one is smaller, and popular because it is closer to the main part of the show, so plan on arriving early if you want to park there.

Here's the event map so you can see where the Corvette only parking is, and everything else. It can be enlarged for easier reading.

I'm a first timer coming from Philly. If anyone would like to meet up for the ride out let me know. I'm staying at the luxiourous econo lodge in Carlisle. I haven't bought any passes yet still trying to figure that part out.

The Fun Field pass also puts your car in the running for a celebrity pick. Throughout the weekend judges walk around checking out cars, and on Saturday, they pick their favorites out for this honor. If your car is chosen, you'll get a certificate on your dashboard and another sticker in your window. Then on Sunday, there is a parade of the winners and you get your trophy presented to you. Or if you're unable to be there Sunday, you can arrange to have it mailed to you. Hope that helped you some.

thanks for the info. I'm looking forward to it.
If anyone happens to have an extra pass that I could purchase without having to wait there on Thursday let me know.

You don't need to have one ahead of time. YOu can buy one at the office outside of Gate 3 (main entrance) and then slap it on your windshield to go onto the Fun Field.

This year, we thought a conflict would prevent us from going (at least on our preferred Friday) but that conflict disappeared a couple of weeks ago. So, we'll get up at 0 dark 30 with an eye to being at the diner outside the fairgrounds at 7:00 AM. We'll stay until noon, leaving before things get too crazy.
We're planning on bringing Grace if the weather is good, Louis if it's a little sketchier.

You are right Jim! Wednesday departure makes you guys the first Posse arrival! If you see any construction that would be relevant to our route on Thursday let me know. Drive safe and we'll see you Thursday!
