NYC - One Night Parking

As someone who worked in the city for 40+ years I can tell you that you don't want to drive into or out of the city on a Friday. A lot depends on where you have to meet your friends, if downtown - the ferry from Hoboken is a nice 8 - 15 minute ride depending on if you need the east or west side of Manhattan. Previous posts gave you several uptown choices. Good luck and enjoy your stay.

*Actually, we are going to leave it at home. Taking the Jeep instead. Still have the parking issue.

You'll be fine pretty much anywhere. Most those garages you will see Bently's and MB's. Just throw the guy a $50 and tell him you will be back in less than 4 hours so they don't bury it. I never ever had a problem in a garage.

I once drove my Z06 into midtown. It was one of my worst driving experiences ever. I was a nervous wreck until I crossed back into NJ. Another vote for parking in Weehawken and taking the ferry. It's also a nice ride across the river. If you drive in, I like the garages in the Broadway area. Several years ago I had to drive into the city hall area so I took my pickup. Big mistake, the truck premium cost me $47 to park for an hour and a half.

I don't think the parking is so much of an issue as is traffic and driving around.

Update...
Decided to take the Vette, not the Jeep!
Stayed in Jersey City. The Valet let me park the car on my own in the valet lot. Had a great corner spot.
Slipped him $50 after, he was very accommodating.
Driving into Jersey City was nerve racking, never drove over so many bad streets.
