The Dilworth crew should migrate over to the new Glen Mills Wegmans. I used to go to the old location all the time but haven't been in over a year (between worthy cars). Would hop in the car now to meet up but there's no guarantee any more that anyone will be around.

Got it, for folks needing the address.

50 Foundry Way, Malvern, PA 19355

If that's wrong then that's where I'll be. Just look for the tired dummy in the silver C5Z that's sitting there crying in the driver's seat.

I think the old location (Giant shopping center south of West Chester) is still going, at least it was last Fall. The other location has been Wegmans (off 202 in Malvern)

Hopefully next Sat mother nature will cooperate

There is still a group that meets at the RT202 site. Last time I was there in the late fall, a police car sat there in viewing distance the entire time, but did nothing other than sit there. Looks like this upcoming Saturday's weather is going to be good.

So it was a beautiful morning today with sun and temps in the 60's. First Bill and I went to the old 202 Dilworthtown Plaza site to see what was happening. Got there around 9 am and there were something like 20 cars there and one was a local police car. A few minutes after we got there the police car moved to the largest group of people and very politely told us he wasn't going to do anything today but don't come back in the future because the owner of the shopping center doesn't want us there and they have to enforce his wishes.

Okay, so we decided to check out the Wegman's in Malvern to see what was going there and a lot of those 20 cars did the same. Wegman's was packed when we got there around 9:30am. Wegman's has a very large parking lot and I'd guess that at least a third of it was taken up by the Cars & Coffee crowd.

I just hope that we are not a victim of our own success by being a nuisance to Wegman's. That will happen if people act like numbskulls and block the free flow of the cars of Wegman's customers and they complain to the management. Also showing off leaving the lot with loud mufflers and showing how fast you car can accelerate is also going to get us banned from this site. We have a good thing going at Wegman's so don't be the jerk that gets us booted out. It only takes a few like that story about the bad apple in the barrel. Talk to your friends about being orderly.

You may be right, Walt, but I sure hope you are wrong. On the other hand there are plenty of parking lots we haven't been kicked out of yet. Even if we go through one site a month, we should be good for a couple years. I've never seen that big of a turnout at that location. Reminds me of what the West Chester site used to look like. The police presence at the Malvern location is not a good omen. Makes me feel like I'm hanging out with a bunch of law breakers!

Here is a letter that Don Sontag received from Wegman's management after this weekends C&C. Quote:

Good morning Don,

What a turn out today! 3-30-19

1.Thank you all for cleaning up. Please let the entire group know we truly appreciate the fact they clean up after themselves. Its impressive to have 5 pieces of trash in the parking lot after such a large group came through.

2. Our biggest concern is people in the street/ middle of the parking lot. Please let everyone know to stay clear so our customers do not have to wait for people to move out of the way for them to drive through. Unfortunately it’s a poor reflection on us and not the group.

3. Please remind them that they should not be setting up chairs out there.

4. Please make sure folks that bring dogs clean up after them ( This was not a concern just a reminder)

5. Thank them for being respectful. There were no revving engines or people tearing through the parking lot.

6. Can you ask that once they leave the parking lot that they use the same restraint and not zip down 29. Our customers see the cars leaving our parking lot and it is a poor reflection on us as well.

Overall great turn out and everyone was very respectful and we appreciate it. If you have any questions please let me know!

Don added: Also no selling of wares and don't leave hoods up unattended.

“Corvette Corner” at Wegman’s Malvern...

Nice weather and a good turnout. Later in the morning a gentleman in a ‘67 427 showed up. It’s unrestored and in amazing condition. AND, he’s the original owner

Sorry, did not get a pic — perhaps he’ll be there at a future C & C...

This is a post of an email just sent by the C&C organizer Don Sontag:

Apparently, to the township, what signifies the difference between a Cars and Coffee meet and a “car show” is whether car hoods are in the up position. Once it is ruled as a car show Wegman’s has to obtain liability insurance in excess of what they normally hold. I was informed that local police were counting hoods recently. Soooooooooo… please make sure hoods are down.

Let other offenders know this and that we want to continue with Wegman’s as our gracious host.
