I am in West Islip. I have wanted to attended but I work until about 7:30 on Tuesday. I also go to Bellmore and Captree. It would be amazing if we had a drag strip on the island but reality I cant picture that happening.

What time on Tuesdays? On the drag strip subject, it would be great to see a drag strip on LI especially if it was NHRA sanctioned and bring the Summernationals here. But how many of us would actually attend?
We have a great NASCAR sanctioned track right here in Riverhead and the attendance is mostly disappointing. The owners could make more money selling the property to build more stores or condos. Why not support the only motorsports venue on LI and if the money people see the interest in racing they will push to build a drag strip as well.

I'd be supprised if it happened too. I do admire the resolve and decadation of this group.

Retired & lovin' it!
Hate to admit my age, but in years gone by (many, many years), we would street race on the Clearview Expressway (now I-295) before it was fully open. We'd get on the roadway off Horace Harding Blvd heading north towards the Throggs Neck Bridge. HH Blvd was the end of construction at that time & there would be no traffic coming from behind. Clear run to the 35th Ave exit & then go hide at Bayside H.S. Them was the days.....

My Vette is on the North Fork. All these events are during the week? Nothing over the weekends?? Work does not allow me to get there on weekdays!
Thanks Ike
