Default Portland ME & Bar Harbor

Our club (Corvette Express) will be doing a cruise from NJ to Portland & then to Bar Harbor later in June. About 11 or 12 cars in the caravan as of now. Looking for restaurant recommendations in both locales. We'll be in Portland on 6/22-23 & Bar Harbor 6/24-25. Would really like to find an "old style" lobster pound/fish market with outdoor picnic tables & steaming "while you wait". Thanks for any input. Also, any local Corvette club events during those days.

Red's Eats in Wiscasset is a hoot but the Lobster Pound in Lincolnville is probably more of what you're looking for. Both are in Rt. 1. DiMillo's on the Water in Portland shouldn't be missed. It's an old converted ferry boat that we go to every time we're in Portland. Have fun! Ron

This place http://www.trentonbridgelobster.com is excellent for first class excellent lobster. The parking for a dozen Vettes with be problematic almost anywhere you go unfortunately. Been there many time and I speak the truth...good luck.

Day two in Portland....had lobsters last night at the Portland Lobster Company in the Old Town.....excellent lobsters. Tonight had dinner at Dock's on Evans & Broadway in So. Portland. Four of us shared crabcakes, fried clams, lobster Newburg & baked finnin haddie...all excellent. Heading for Bar Harbor tomorrow AM.....will be trying the Tan Turtle on Saturday night & Beal's on Sunday night.
