Where are all the Corvettes in the D.C. area?
Been here in Maryland since Thursday and have seen exactly one Corvette. It was in Waldorf heading north on Hwy. 301. We are visiting family and seeing the sites...Lincoln Monument, Viet Nam Memorial, Dr. King Monument and Washington Monument Friday and Mt. Vernon and the National Harbor yesterday. Going to the African-American Museum tomorrow and whatever else we can squeeze in before we take off on Wednesday.
Anyway, I was thinking that there are a lot more C7’s along the East Coast than in the Northwest where I live....saw plenty of Teslas last evening at the National Harbor, but again, not a single Vette. Now if I can get used to this heat and humidity...
One more thing...It’s beautiful here...

There are lot, and mine was in downtown DC 4 days last week, as I commute to and from DC almost every day. However, mine does disappear into my underground garage at work, and is protected by armed guards, so timing is everything. I usually see 1-2 per day to and from work during the good driving months. Mine's on the road year-round, but I don't see many around here during the winter months.
Enjoy your visit. This is a fantastic place to live, other than brutal traffic. You were here during one of the more miserable and humid periods of the summer, and it's generally not that oppressive. You do get used to it, and it was a shock to me moving from the west coast (NoCal) to DC.

Drifting
I live right off US 301, but well down into Virginia (Hanover County). A group of us from our local Corvette club are participating in a "Corvette Challenge" with several other clubs. We are doing this on Saturday, September 29th at the Chevy dealership along US Route 1 (Jeff Davis Highway) in Fredericksburg. Altogether, we had about 150 cars from six or seven Corvette clubs last year. It was a cool day and there was no rain - which was outstanding.
From our club alone, we had 27 cars and we hope to beat that number this year. Get in your Corvette - any year - and come on down. It's a friendly bunch of Corvette enthusiasts. Heck, they sometimes have a few other classic or muscle cars that might show up for the fun as well. It is a very fun time!

Blame Mike Furman at Criswell Chevrolet in Maryland
80% of the 400 or so C7’s he sells annually are out of state deliveries, via Courtesy Delivery, National Corvette Museum Delivery, or Plycar Enclosed Transport Carriers Delivery.

I’m out in my C7 GS nearly everyday, but I’m 30 miles S of Washington DC. Wife’s family is in St. Mary’s County Maryland so we spend some time in the C7 driving up there too.
Welcome to the Heat, humidity, and pollen... this region has those in excess every year. But, as Foose pointed out above , this is a very beautiful area to live in and there are plenty of Corvettes around. Just gotta pick the right day to see them out and about (hint: Sunday’s!).

Ya mean you didn't see these two guys tooling around?
Weekday commuters?, everybody drives a beater in WMA to avoid being singled out as having a better ride than your boss. Not a fireable offense in the Civil Service, but your boss can make your cube life a pisser if he is jealous of you. Rte 50 this time of year is loaded btb from 5am on with everybody heading to the shoah in Delaware and Murland beaches on the weekend, and then btb back on Sunday eve.

Thanks for all the responses...appreciate them.
We went to Annapolis today and saw a Torch Red Stingray driving up Main Street as well as an Admiral Blue Stingray parked on the street as we walked along. Being a History nut, i was almost overwhelmed by just being in a place so full of historical sites. The state Capitol building, the church in just up the hill from there, all those 230-plus year old buildings and narrow streets, the harbor where slaves were brought in, the US Naval Academy...so much to see and experience in such a short time.
Had dinner at Maggiones at that mall just outside Annapolis right by Hwy 50. That was some of the BEST food I’ve EVER had....simply delicious. Almost worth coming back to visit another time!
Great state you you all have here...

I was in Naptown today (Sunday).
At the mall eating at Stony River. I have no idea why you didn't see me , but I did wave at a blue C7 today.
eta: Come to think of it, I waved at a black, black rose, a couple of red C7s. A few C6s as well. and one C5. We are everywhere. However, I have yet to see Foosh; I thought I did, once, but he said it wasn't him.

Very much so...
Were you by any chance in Annapolis near the US Naval Academy around 4:40 pm or so in a blue C6? I was in a white Malibu turning left right in front of one as we were headed back toward Main St. heading up the hill and out to the mall. Out of habit, I waved even though I wasn’t in my Vette....

No, I was in the green one today (one of two in this neck of the woods, but I don't think Bob drives his much). I didn't go downtown, today.
I was actually up in Mt. Airy, and just stopped at Stony River for early dinner on the way home .
Although, if you saw a blue C6 Vert, they are almost as rare as green C7s. . The green ones are like leprechauns. I'm not sure what the blue ones are.

Seems like I see at least 3 to 5 a day, but of course, it depends on the day. Nicer days brings out plenty more. Now.. the Corvette wave is in limited supply.
If you were in Annapolis last weekend, you would have seen plenty of Corvettes on West Street.

These cars really are fantastic daily drivers, and it certainly adds some fun to the daily grind. Contrary to popular belief, they also clean up real nice.

In an answer to my original question, I saw a black ZR1, black wheels, big spoiler and everything, parked in a garage in downtown D.C. today. First ZR1 I’d ever seen in person. Very sharp looking. Wonder if it belongs to a forum member.
We spent the last two days in D.C. mostly at the African American History Museum....what a place. Impossible to see it all even in two days, there’s so much history and culture there. Then we quickly walked over to the White House before hurrying to BWI to catch our flight home. Great trip, almost wish we had more time but it’ll be good to get back home.
