Driving Up to Corvette Weekend - Ocean City, MD
We are planning to drive up to the Corvette Weekend - OC, MD on Friday the 12th and was thinking about stopping for lunch at the Exmore Dinner in Exmore, VA. Has anyone gone to this dinner? Any comments?

They had the bridge on 90 into OC one lane this week, not sure if it will be opened up next weekend, but if it's not, you can expect delays.
For those coming into OC over the bay bridge, they're working on the east bound span and have some traffic diverted to eastbound in the westbound span. There is construction all along 70 and some on 50, and when you're heading westbound on the way home on 70, they are grinding and repaving between Easton and the 401 split. Big drop offs, delays, and the ground side is open in spots. Only the left lane is still paved. Could be an issue for lower Vettes. Also, there's a big speed bump in OC on St. Louis Ave (one block back on the western side of Coastal Hgwy) between 3rd and 4th Streets. You'll scrape.

Good Road Info
Thanks for the heads up on the road conditions. You may agree that traveling on Coastal Hwy in OC during a rain you would better off not traveling in the curb side lane as drainage may not be as effective as the inside lanes,

The weather forecast looks pretty good. Rain in the morning on Friday, but sunny Saturday and Sunday. Better bring a jacket or sweat shirt because 62* on Saturday at the inlet will be COLD! Can't make it this year, but hopefully you guys will post up some pics of the fun. The police are on notice to look for any violations, so don't do anything stupid. Too much nonsense has been going on down there during car events that has a lot of the residents calling for them ALL to be cancelled. So show the town that Corvette people have a bit more class.
Have fun all!!

I think I'd be careful in OCMD on Friday. Whatever is left of Hurricane Michael is supposed to be coming thru at that time. It doesn't take much to flood OCMD. I'd be careful and be prepared to be on higher ground Friday. Good luck. Be safe.

Agreed. Especially in the downtown/boardwalk/bayside area. That's the area most prone to flooding. Also between 90th and 140th Streets will flood as well. Don't drive through standing water. Remember, if it's flooding, that's SALT water you're driving through.

Wet
It should be wet and rainy on Friday. I hope the storm keeps its speed and passes quickly. I will be following up from NC. May adjust leaving time to keep the storm ahead but the flooding is always a concern any place on the ride up. Still going at this time.

Local (WMDT) weather is saying rain Thursday, but WINDY on Friday. Check it out! I think the weather will be fine, just cool.

Not sure if we're going or not. Weather looking a bit iffy. Though, thought I'd let everyone know that Sinbad's at 18th Street shopping plaza (median area, not boardwalk) makes the best gyros and pizza, cheesesteaks in OCMD. Plenty of parking there, too. The young guy that works there is a serious car guy loves to talk cars. We always stop in to chat and get something to eat. Best mom and pop place that accommodates cars!

I bet the organizers are wishing they had chosen a different theme name for the event this weekend other than "Hurricane Horsepower". At least the storm blew by quickly last night. I'm hoping by the time we arrive at 2 or so that any flooded streets have drained off.

Good thinking on checking out the webcams..... We'll be at the inlet Saturday too. I did not enter the fun show, but will line up for the boardwalk parade.

LOL. We actually did see your tag. At Cracker Barrell on Sunday. If you saw a CRM Grand Sport, that was us.
Corvettes everywhere. Good time.
