Default Can you recommend a C4 mechanic in North Jersey

Hey Northeast,

I am getting a vibration in the steering wheel and shifter in my 1993 Corvette. I replaced the older tires thinking that it might be the problem, but it still has the vibration. Does anyone know a good C4 mechanic in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Thanks!

i live in bergen county and i drive to middletown ct jackson chevrolet...for paul Koerner aka whose tattoo is c4c5specialist.

he does all the seminars across the countryie. Bowling green, mid america, bloomington gold, Carlisle discussing and advising service.

this guy is great and if anyone will find and fix the issue this guy is it.

call them. Make the appoint, ent for a saturday morning. Its an hour and a half or two hours as the sun rises as you drive up the merit.

i have been using him for 20years to service all my cars.

like I said hia specialty is the c4.

he will tell you exactly what is needed to fix your issue and fix it.

great guy.

good luck.

Hello,

I'm going to recommend a good friend of mine. Alex Thomson @ Thomson Motorsports. He is not a C4 specific mechanic, but he is a AAE certified and very detail oriented. He will walk you thru your specific problem and solve it to your satisfaction. He is located in Berkley Heights, not quite Bergen County but relatively close. Hope the helps.

Rich....I sent a note to a friend here in NJ who had a C4 some time ago asking if he knew of a mechanic he could recommend. In the meantime, vibration you describe most likely seems to be wheel or rotor imbalance. Your message states that you replaced the tires, but did you have a good road force balancing done? A road force balancing machine places force on the wheel/tire combination as it spins which will identify & measure an out of balance condition better that a standard dynamic balancer. I did a Google search on "Hunter Road Force Balancing locations" & came up with shops in Fairlawn, Elizabeth & Rahway. Closest to me is Freehold Tire Pros in Freehold. They mounted a balanced a new set of Continental's with new sensors for my C6 this past Summer & did a great job. If their location is convenient for you, I would recommend them highly.

Yes, I think it's a good idea to start with a road force balancing to make sure that the tires are not the culprit. I'm close to Fairlawn, so I'll check out the Fairlawn location and start there. Thanks!
