Hi guys,

New register, long time lurker. I'm moving to the Maryland to work close to DC, coming from Toronto. In the process I'm getting a commuter car and a C6 vette, most likely out of state, talks with seller from this forum have already begun. After driving the vehicle back to MD, I will need to get a state inspection done before I can register the vehicle. However, I continue to read horror stories of shady shops and inspectors looking to make extra cash by failing for some of the most ridiculous things. My question for you current Vette (or even non-vette) owners in MD is what are some of the best inspection shops in MD that won't give me a hard time?

Are there any forum dealers who other members can vouch for, or just anyone that you know? After much research I've compiled a list of top 3 shops overall (not vette specific) that seem to be trusted for state inspections.

Cheers to everyone, and can't wait to be driving my Vette in this coming year. Lots of changes to my life.

Gonna give this a slight bump. I know this a question asked every once a whole, but there seems to be a lack of names of shops who are tied and true for Maryland State Inspections. If anyone has experience with:

Dependable Auto services
Revolution motor works
Certified car Care

​​​​​​Then please let me know. Based on a month+of online research these 3 seem very honest and don't try to screw you.

Don't know how I didn't see this question before. I know Maryland is not a large state, but it is spread out over a good area, so to answer your question, it may help to know where in Maryland you would need an inspection.

As for an 'honest' inspection, I had one of my local Chevrolet dealers perform the inspection. I can't remember how much it cost, off the top of my head, I would have to look it up. But I felt the inspection was fair and honest. My car was purchased out of state and only had 23k miles on it. So, it passed without a problem.

If you're working in DC I imagine you're probably looking Montgomery County, PG County...somewhere down that way or maybe out towards Frederick. I don't know of any that are in that part of the state but north of Baltimore Galants Automotive in Bel Air I know does state inspections. (Corvette specialist but works on all vehicles)

How about Kent Island/Annapolis area? I might be moving there someday soon.

This is a shop near me (just west of Annapolis) that inspected my truck and did work on my wifes car and alot of others in the neighborhood. They have a good rep. I would not bring a vette there for repair, but they can inspect it.
