New Jersey Inspection ?
In November my 95 LT1 is due for state inspection in NEW Jersey. Four years ago I took the car to the state inspection lane and it failed the front end shaker test. I then took it to a local shop and the mechanic passed it saying there's nothing wrong with this car.
Two years ago I paid to have the inspection done and it passed without a problem.
Has anyone else had a problem passing using the state run inspection lanes?

I haven't gone to the state inspection in years. I go to a local guy. Sure it costs, but there are no lines and no problems.

I did not have a good experience with the NJ State inspection. This past April my '99 failed because of tinted driver and passenger front side windows. NJ does not allow any tint on the side windows...none! I had to get it removed in order to pass.

The NJ state guys failed my other car, a Mark VIII, for a brake balance test. Now the car was still under warranty and the rotors and pads were new. I took it to the dealer who also does inspections. They passed it no problem. They said the front breaks do about 70% of the work and the way the inspections guys were testing it by abruptly hitting the breaks in a short distance the rear breaks never had a chance to kick in. Ever since then I just pay and take it to a private garage about 1/2 mile from my house. It is worth it not having to deal with the state inspection guys. Also if you have things like tinted windows, if you know the guys and go in with your windows down, it is like they don't ask and you don't tell and you pass.

I went to Cruise-In V with Vetteweiser
I take mine to the dealer I bought it from and have no problems . They love the car and by the way I have no mufflers so I actually shouldn't even pass . Plus I don't want no State morans playing with my car .
