Default Where to go / not-to-go for warranty work?

...in the South Bay Area or Penninsula?

I have a growing list of problems that need attending while my '06 C6 is still under warranty:

1. Differential groans when turning (fluid change + additive as per GM TSB worked for awhile, but it came back)

2. Climate control console flips out all the time. The display goes crazy, or more often than not just goes blank. Some of the buttons continue to work, some don't. Other times, it works fine.

3. Roof recall.

4. Buzzing/rattling passenger-side door speaker.

5. Paint flaking off A-pillar weatherstrip.

I'll probably address 4 and 5 myself. I'm looking for a service department that can handle 1, 2 or 3 successfully and without joyriding the car, scratching up the interior, scuffing the paint, breaking trim pieces, etc.

Can anybody relate their experiences with local dealers' service departments? All of us have had our share of disappointing experiences with salesmen, but I'm interested specifically in the service departments.

Thanks

Jump on 680 and head for Fairfield and take it to Fairfield Chevorlet.
Give RichieRichZO6 a call@ 707-422-7777.
Rich will make sure you are treated right..he will make arrangement for a loaner if needed.

There are certain dealers down in the SJ area to avoid due to bad service.
Good luck...

I do appreciate the advice to visit forum sponsor Fairfield Chevrolet. However, they are a long way from me.

It may come to that, but does anybody have experience with service departments in the South Bay? For example, what about Courtesy? I hear nothing but vague admonitions never to buy a car there, but what about their service department? The lot has dozens of Corvettes, one would think they might know what they're doing with these cars. Or not. Any first-hand experiences?

its worth the extra time to go to Richierich at Fairfield Chevy. You will probably save time in a long run.

Last I heard RichieRich was going to run for president.

Try Boardwalk in Redwood City, they've been outstanding to work with.

If not willing to drive to Fairfield, try Boardwalk as above. They have GM certified corvette techs and are catering to the corvette community both here on the forum and in the area as Vette Magic this weekend.

That is what the Corvette is for and all about...to put it on the road..nice long drive...I drive to MSI in Roseville just about every Saturday morning just to get the car on a nice long run (72 miles oneway).

Yes I heard by all means to stay away from Courtesy..
Again my $.02

Default I like Courtesy

Contrary to posts above I have been very happy with my service at Courtesy and their service department. They have been timely, and the work looks good to me.
There is no perfect dealership, or perfect customer, try a dealership and if you are not satisified do not go back.

Fitz in Concord sucks. They did a clutch master and left one helluva mess the footwell of fluid. They also did the drivers diff seal at the same time which hasnt leaked since, but they failed to tighten the drivers side exhaust back and it fell down driving home.

Rich in Faifield is a big thumbs up!

As always, THANK YOU to all who are loyal to bringing their cars here. If we are too far of a drive for warranty work, then I really would give Carl at Boardwalk a call. I have sent a couple customers his way for purchases, but I am sure he will make sure that you are taken care of on service as well. Let him know that I sent you up there if you decide to go that way. If you come up this way then we will get you handled as well. Thanks again for all the support.

I've had good luck with Crown in Dublin through the years.

I've had so-so luck with dealers in Morgan Hill, San Jose and Seaside (near Monterey). I won't name names, but you can figure it out in about 30 seconds using Google...
