I bought several cars and trucks from LG Chevy over the years.. ouch. I bought my vette from Ellis Brooks in SF.. I guess they are no longer gonna carry many of the GM Brands.

The car business is the worst it has been in a long time. Dealers are closing left and right and it is not even close to the end of this mess yet.

"Colma GMC, Los Gatos Chevrolet and Good Chevrolet of Alameda closed their doors on Tuesday. All blamed slow sales of General Motors cars.
One salesman, Carlos Gallardo of Good Chevrolet in Alameda said the workers heard the news at 4 p.m. Good Chevrolet had been in business for 53 years. Sixty people are now out of work. Some had worked there for 30 years. Gallardo said he previously had been laid off from another dealership. But he understands that a new car is not high on people's priority lists right now. "People, I guess are losing their jobs, so it's getting tougher for us to sell a car and the banks are getting really tough with people, it's not as easy as it was before."
Ellis Brooks Chevrolet in San Francisco also is seeing business change. The 69 year old dealership plans to cut its inventory. John Brooks said, "We no longer are going to sell Buick, Pontiac or GMC but maintain Chevrolet, Cadillac and Saab." Ellis Brooks used to sell as many as 250 cars a month, but the dealership says now it's as few as 65 cars. "It's scary. That's definitely the market we're in. Never thought that we would see all this and there are probably too many dealers in the United States, but at the same time you hate to see anybody go out of business. We're all in the same boat," said John Brooks."
I'm almost 48... and I haven't seen anything like this either.. my folks have though.. as did my grandparents. I dunno, but I think things are gonna get worse before they get better. How much worse? Not too much, I hope.

Safety Car
Got my 98 there and that was real drill in having to walk away to make a deal that wasn't completely ridiculous. I called to make an appt for Service at 4:45PM one day and they didn't answer, just picked the phone up and put it back down. Called again few minutes later, same thing, called a third time around 4:55, and no one would answer. Took it to Carl instead.
Went in shopping a 50th Anniversary Convertible(the only one in the Bay area that had one at the time) and they tried to rape me for more than the car was worth, when I refused and made a comment abut trying to rape people, the Sales Manager picked up a phone and mockingly YELLED - Somebody call the police we are raping people here!!!
Called him a Mother Flowering A_hole and walked out, with the sales guy trying to get me to come back in. It doesn't surprise they are going down.

I like the people at Courtesy Chevy (stevens creek blvd) but the one in Sunnyvale would not surprise me if it closed. They do not give good customer service. They also do not sell many corvettes as they only have 2-5 on hand and do not like to test drive cars? how do you sell them.

Bud Allan sucks. I went to buy a vette from them and because of my age they didnt take me seriously.
Needless to say I bought from a friendlier dealer.

A big problem is the cost of land rental. Many dealers pay $40-60k/month for the land. I was just at Moore yesterday and they said they have np. They own their own land. Plus their nice people.
