Default "tps rocks..saved me $1100 over dealership

I have a very clean 07 Z51 Corvette and it was making some noise in the front suspension.I have a chevy Dealer not to far from my house so I took it to them to check it out. After a day and they had to keep it over night. The next morning they told me I needed a front spring and bushings now these thing's are composit and very expensive!! They told me it would cost 1200.00 on top of the 600.00 I already paid.needless to say I said I don't think so.I called Mike at TPS and asked him if he had one and he said he had a used one and could do the job for 500.00. When I got there they went right to work and come to find out it was not the spring or the bushings just a simple adjusting bolt needed to be replaced, they had one and put it on for a 100.00 bucks!!! Mike saved me a Ton of money and time. Thank's to Mike and his Crew the Dealer didn't Rip me off!!! Thanks Guy's!!!!

Cool deal....

I try to stay away from the "stealership" as much as possible.

Few years back, Courtesy chevy wanted to replace my whole tranny and rear end after asking them to check out a leak in the rear/dif (had the rear seals replaced years before).
Told them no, dropped by mikes/tps to take a look and they suggested getting a steam clean to at least see where the leak was coming from. I did and since then no leak. Go figure. Saved me bank! (Btw thanks mike)

But makes you wonder how much the dealers are making on (repairs) on people that don't know of other shops like tps, synergy, others....

Thanks for the props Eric... glad we could always help you Unlike some other businesses NONE of my employees work on commissions so there is absolutely no incentive for them to sell a unneeded repair or upgrade. Most service writers at dealerships work on commissions but I don't believe most are being dishonest most do good work. For Glen the OP.. dealerships don't have replacement bolts.. they only have brand new complete springs

We actually had a customer who came in a few months ago where they went into a shop for a simple dampner replacement. The shop broke the bolt in the crank and told the customer he now needed a new engine. We retapped the crank and saved the motor for the customer
