Historic Racing
Just about finished getting the car back together with the new engine and some other little changes. Signed up for the NCRC track day on 3/22 to do a little testing just to make sure we didn't do anything wrong putting the car back together.
Our first race will be at Sears Point on April 11-12 at the CSRG David Love Memorial Race. Our second race will also be there on May 28-31 for the SVRA Sonoma Historic Motorsports Festival. Also hoping that our car will be accepted into the new "Gold Medallion" class that SVRA has for cars that are built to the specifications of the years they were raced.
The Monterey Reunion is August 13-16. Last year they had over 850 entries for 550 spots, and this year they have received even more. Hopefully we get invited, but it is probably a long shot. The featured marque this year is the Shelby GT 350 and they will have their own race. They have around 30 Grand Prix cars entered for the their race and over 50 F5000 cars have applied for entry for their race group. Add to this the Trans-Am cars which always field a full group and you have a good portion of the 550 total. If we don't get into Monterey we will have to pick out one more race towards the end of the season.

I'm not a total fan of BOP, I believe that if a team has some secrets that are making a difference that they should be able to leverage that advantage, on the other hand when was the last tome you saw a race end with 6 cars within seconds. The only chance the F1 Merc's have of loosing or getting past is so boring unless you are Lewis Hamilton fan these races are yawners. WEC/FIA/IMSA, you can have 6 cars within seconds of each other after 24 hours. The FIA didn't care that Porsche flopped their motor config, and there isn't one front drive car where the engine isn't 3 ft behind the front axle. Corvette could have swapped motor ends like Porsche years ago, but either didn't want to misrepresent the cars to it public or too cheap to invest.
