Our car is too loud for those yuppie scumbags that purchased houses next to a RACE TRACK and complain about noise.

No stealth mode on the RumbleBee. It's a Katech 427 with long tubes, no cats and Burns Stainless "mufflers." It hits 107dB so there's no chance I can make it work for those bunny hugging bastards.

Laguna Seca has been run by SCRAMP since it opened, but they do not have the money to do the upgrades needed to the track. The county has now voted to give the contract to run the track to a group called "Friends of Laguna Seca" which is made up of some very rich folks, most of them are also races. They seem to have the bankroll to make the upgrades to the track. The final contract seems to have been stalled. You can look up this battle as there are a lot of articles about it. The sad part is that this is the most famous and (in my opinion) the best race track that we have left in California. Sears Point is a more modern facility, but I have always loved Laguna. Hopefully they get this all resolved before this track goes bankrupt.

Well, Mr. White is correct! I wonder who the whiners are and how close their houses are to the track. The track has been there forever, so one would think that developers who built anywhere near the track, or prior owners, would have to include that in the disclosures when homes were sold. That aside, common sense is sometimes in short supply. Whining after the fact is just...whining.

The whole thing has been a mess from the start and the track is most definitely in peril. Someone needs to step up with some major dollars for improvements and as they say, talk is cheap. Hopefully the situation will be resolved shortly, as the race season is scheduled to begin at LSR in May. This is an iconic race track and there will be hell to pay if it closes.

The problem is the inherent conflict due to the location of the race track within a county park and it's multi-use objectives. From their website:
"Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is situated within the Laguna Seca Recreation Area, which is operated by the Monterey County Parks Department. The area is a must-see for naturists, hikers, bicyclists and anyone who enjoys the outdoors."
That description does not sound conducive to a loud race track. The sound limits are set by the county park and rec department. Plus as we know from the sound limits at Thunderhill in the middle of nowhere, it only takes one person complaining to the county to cause sound restrictions. So blaming people that live out there is not really correct. Many if not most likely bought their homes with the sound limits in force. Obviously they would have a legal cause for complaint if the racetrack tried to increase the sound limits as it would negatively affect their property values. So it's a tough spot for the race track to be in, which is unfortunate since it's such a great and iconic track.
