Default Bay Area C7 needs new windshield glass - who?

I've got a C7 (with a hud) that needs a new windshield due to a rock chip / crack.

Anyone recommend a good shop in the bay area?

Make sure they have the part in hand before they remove your windshield. Another thread is saying they are very hard to come by right now...

Demand a genuine GM part, especially if you have HUD.

I had one put in my C6. The retail price for the part at a Chevrolet dealer was $966.00.

Some GM dealers will quote higher than than for an HUD OEM windshield; so that's not a bad price. Yet when I broke mine, I looked around and finally went with a non-HUD glass. Mine looks very good and a person can hardly tell the difference; especially when I only paid $369 for the glass and install. For me this was worth it.

Well, mine was being paid for by insurance, I only paid $100 deductible. My policy says I have the right to demand OEM parts, so I did.

Thanks everyone. I ended up going with Speedy Glass in Concord. Able Chevrolet in Rio Vista recommended them. I spoke to the installer and they confirmed they'd done many c7s.

Glass is supposed to take about a week to get, getting it through a dealer because I do want OEM for obvious reasons. I'll update everyone with my experience.

Thank you for the advice!

Just got my glass in last weekend. Dealer that Speedy Glass used took forever to get it from Chevy.

Went well. Took a while, about 2 hours, due to how much of the car they have to take apart.

With how much I drive I'm sure I'll end need another windshield and I'll use them again.
