Pre-registration
NCCA has pre-purchased 40 tickets for the Drag Racing this year. We encourage everyone that is interested in joining us for Vette Magic 42 to Pre-register as this event is limited in scope. ANY car is eligible to race HOWEVER, ONLY Corvettes will race against each other for King of the Hill. EVERYONE is eligible to run for the money Kingdon raceway is sponsoring. Come out and have some FUN and help support the charities that this event will help fund. As always, We want to thank ABEL CHEVROLET of Rio Vista for their continued support of our event.

This is awesome news! After seeing that someone had posted there wouldn't be dragsbthos year, I was very saddened. Who knew they ran drag races in Lodi? Quarter mile I assume? Rules for convertibles and ridiculously fast cars?

Yep.. Corvette Magic lives on.. to clarify. we are not limited to 40.. any number can come out.. and you will likely get as many runs as you want.. we begin on the track at 9 am. 1 hour earlier than normal so we will have lots of runs!

*Cars are subject to NHRA safety rules as per mile per
hour at the finish line (We have a radar gun only for safety rules at this time. Anyone running faster than 150 mph must have all NHRA safety equipment for that speed.) As always, CONVERTIBLES are limited to 13.50 or MUST have a roll bar.

Been to the Kingdon Reunion many times...always fun. My buddy, Hairy Burkholder will be there with his AA/FA cackle car. His new race car is not ready, yet.
Too bad, due to scheduling conflicts, I will not attend this year. We are headed to Grass Valley that weekend for Cruising the Pines event, a favorite.

Ok. At Vette Magic in Sac, the track always allowed convertibles with the top up to run 11.50 and up. Good to know. I'll pass along to our club. Thanks.

I'm assuming this is 1/4 mile? Someone said it was 1/8 mile but that wouldn't make sense with the speed limits I'm seeing.

If they (Kingdon) are running by the NHRA book, speeds OVER 134 mph or a ET from 9.99 seconds or quicker would then require a NHRA certified chassis. Also, the driver would be required to hold a current NHRA certified competition drivers license.
Could some from Vette Magic or the Kingdon tech staff clarify this question before anyone who is a borderline car shows up only to get bounced out for a rule infraction?
Also, the NHRA rule on 2008 and newer unaltered assembly line produced Corvettes can be a sticky one which also needs clairfication from the track's tech committee
Not trying to create any problems, just want to nip them in the bud before they occur.
I plan on attending with my car, I want this race to be a huge success so that Vette Magic will continue for many years to come

Just to be on the safe side.
If they (Kingdon) are running by the NHRA book, speeds OVER 135 mph or a ET from 9.99 seconds or quicker would then require a NHRA certified chassis. Also, the driver would be required to hold a current NHRA certified competition drivers license.

That's all I needed to know.
I had to change the NHRA speed limit rule, it should have read over 134 mph, not 135 as I had originally posted.
Let the good times roll... will see everyone on September 10 at Kingdon.
Finally, a race where I won't be working behind a microphone and actually become a participant
