Default Mechanic needed

Anyone here know a mechanic or a shop in the Bay Area that know how to work on lowering bolts for my c6Z?? I'm looking to lower my stance a bit and I don't wanna take it to an inexperienced shop.

Thanks guys!

Wow 12 hours gone by and not one abel recommendation. Lolol

Hands down. Abel Chevy. Worth the drive. Just make an appointment
They are very busy but Richie can hook you up. I live in Rohnert Park and that’s the only place my car goes 1.5 hours away.

You can look at my signature and see all the work Abel has done.

While I agree Abel is the best around, this type of job does not need that kind of expertise. You are literally just turning a bolt. Depending on where the OP is located, it might not be worth it to drive over to Rio Vista for something so minor.

Once you get the C6 in the air (to take the pressure off the leaf spring), a little WD-40 and a wrench (I forget the size) and turn the bolt counter clockwise bringing the bushing closer to the leaf spring. Repeat on all 4 corners and done.

Thanks guys for the advise. I've heard of Abel and the good work they do, but the drive there is what gets me.
I really hope to find someone close the Hayward to SF area that have experienced on how to do the job.

I'll keep searching.

thanks again for everyone's response!!!

See Rick at Synergy in Livermore, just over the Dublin grade some. Used to be a guy in San Leandro but I think he is out of business Nick at Newtech. Others might know more.

It isn't a tough job, just be sure to get accurate before measurements. And it takes a while for them to settle in so bouncing up and down on the fenders can help as well as a drive over some speed bumps. Then re measure. You want to try and keep the same balance from factory for starters unless you get corner weighted which is pricey and not needed for street.

If you're in Hayward (fill out you member info so we know where you live), Precision Motors is off Mission. Pat Hendricks is the owner and is one of the few people that has touched my Corvette. He has been there for 30+ years, is honest and has modified and maintained Vettes of all years.

Where are you located? Valaya Motorsports in San Jose does an excellent job and knows Vettes very well

I'm in Hayward. I actually just spoke with Pat over Precision. Thanks to 383vett! His shop is just down the street from my place. Really cool guy, honest and straight forward.
Looking forward to my appointment.
I'll keep TPS Motorsport in mind too, thanks for TPSMak!

I agree 100% with Willie
Pat is a stand up guy, owns and races several Corvettes who knows his stuff.
My experience with him couldn't have been better!
