Metal garage building in NorCal?
Hey, all...
Anyone here ever worked with a metal building company to install a garage or similar-sized structure?
I need local contact info; looking to get something inexpensive to cover 1500 - 2000 sq. ft.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Rich

Hey Rich, what's the budget? Inexpensive is a relative term. My 38X48 was a bit over $110k, all done, but with me doing some of the work.

I had this saved in my bookmarks

Haven't used them yet, but reviews and prices seem ok.

Sadly, I need cheap, as in $30k. Obviously there are additional costs for grading, pad, etc.
I see that United Carports sells a 24 x 46 x 12 for about $13k, installed... was hoping that they can double that for roughly 2x the price.

The cost of the building itself with engineering drawings was less than $30K. The rest is all stuff that adds up. Permits (coastal commission in my case), grading, concrete, forms, steel, foundation/slab labor; then there is the actual building install. How about electrical, alarm, internet and landscaping? I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

I am in contract with Carport Central for a 2 car metal garage for a house flip I'm doing in Livermore. You buy it through them and they have a local company come and install. They are extremly reasonable and have been very good to deal with so far. Their website lets you price the building you want with lots of extras. See link below to price what your looking for.

One other thought; if you are planning on a 2-post lift, make sure the concrete in the area of and under the posts meets the requirements of the lift manufacturer.

Depending on where you are at, and assuming you are getting a permit for this, I recommend going the engineering route that is specific to your metal building. They had a cheaper option that was generic. I'm glad I chose the specific engineering because Alameda County said they would have turned down the generic option.
