Default Bay Area Driving... Joyful?

The traffic got worst over recent years. No question.
But is it my imagination or have we got really bad drivers causing this traffic?

"You know you're back in Bay Area when you're on a highway with Tesla on your right, Google self-driving car on your left & Prius in front."

Definitely not as fun as in the past unless your driving off hours. You'll still have the Prius in front though.

There are bad drivers here, but there are just too many cars. They keep building more high density housing. The politicians want us to use mass transit. They have no concept of the fact that some people might actually enjoy driving a car like a Corvette.

I am seriously considering moving away from the Bay Area.

One Prius? I can see 3 to 4 of them any time I'm on the freeway, sometimes as many as 10.

Off hours are the way to go, but they keep extending the hours on the express lanes ... most annoying.

5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. weekdays. At least on 680, the lanes were already there. Increased gas taxes, increased registration fees and a proposal to increase bridge tolls. And the gullible voters of California keep falling for it.

I believe the bad driving is caused by the lack of Driver's Education/Training in High School and the lack of traffic enforcement. People's driving behavior these days is horrible.

My next road trip I start very early in the morning so I can bypass Bay Area's traffic.
I walk to work everyday. Even in the rain today. Summers I just bicycle. Biking and even walking is not safe anymore. Some drivers have no respect for bikes or pedestrian.
Still have to stay in Bay Area for another 10 years. Then I move 152.6 miles away.

I thought that terrain in the picture looked familiar. Sorry you have to wait another ten years. Lake County isn't perfect, but at least it's a lot cheaper than most of California.

I grew up in Montana. Wide open roads, great scenery, 9 months of winter.

Personally, I think Southern California like in San Diego, Ventura, and Orange County have the best Corvette weather in the country. Very few rain days and great air temps and the scenery on PCH, well what can I say.

There is a reason why a gazillion people live in Southern California and put up with the traffic and the cost of living.

I just wish there was another place like Southern California. Florida might be something to consider but, I think it rains way too much in Florida and don't forget the hurricanes and sink holes.

Arizona has been a thought but, I'm not sure if I want to put up with the heat. Heat will tear a car up if exposed to the hot sun day in & day out.

Texas sounds good but, the weather is extreme at times and a determining factor. Alabama may be in the same boat, insofar as having extreme weather but, I hear the cost of living in Alabama is pretty good these days.

Oh well, I'm still trying to decide if it is a good idea to leave California. The politics is out of hand. There is a bill to make it illegal to have straws and a bill to provide diapers and abortion pills free to people.

Folks, thank you for your replies. I got the correct answer I was looking for.

I still believe San Francisco Bay Area is one of the finest places to live. Yes, traffic is getting on my nerves and take the fun out of my 7 speed manual. Prices are high too. However living in this area still fine to me.
I will move after I retire, but not too far away.

I don’t remember last time I drove my Vette. Sux. To many damn people. We need to adopt China’s one baby rule. I got 10’years then I’m off to Puerto Rico with my Vette.
