Corvette shops in the Bay Area?
The dealer just suggested changing the fluids in my 2008 coupe, for $1300. While I think this is probably a good idea, that's pretty outrageous to me. Who should a take it to?

Valaya Automotive would be near and Ted, the owner is a good guy.
They are adjacent to the Shark Tank.
They specialize in Vipers and lately Corvettes, but will work on anything. They do support track guys.
Local Corvette club using him.
I found him to be very reasonably priced too.
Lots of guys using Abel in Rio Vista. I have used them before too and they are very Corvette attentive. But dealerships carry bigger overhead.
Been easier going to Valya since it is just 5 miles from my house vs 90 miles for Abel.
Synergy in Livermore and Rick, the owner is a LS platform guru.
He can be a little difficult to deal with sometimes, and I have used him 3 times for dyno tuning.
For fluid changes go see Ted.

for a Dealership, Abel Chevy in rio vista. hands down. still a Dealer yet pricing is completely opposite on what you expect at a dealer. they specialize in Corvettes and Rich makes it very affordable for corvette owners.

Thanks. I also have a C2 that's been gathering dust at a San Jose resto shop for more than two years, and I need to get the work jump started. I don't think the owner of the shop gives a ****.

I may have a guy for the 62 depending on what is needed. He works out of his home garage and had numerous old vettes sitting around all the time. I believe he does wiring and engine rebuilding specifically. Subs out body and paint work. Guys send him their cars from all over the country. I gather he is well known. In Campbell and Scott is his name. PM me if you want a contact number.
He lives a few houses down the street and I see really fine cars in his garage all the time.
He be no shade tree mechanic!

FYI - I'm in Fremont also. I would be glad to talk more over coffee to see if the job isn't too difficult.

For the C2 go with Max Krewson, owner of Race-Street-Rally in Santa Clara, or go with Scott in Campbell. Both do outstanding work that they stand behind.
