Default Favorite scene(s) to test sound for home theater?

What are your favorite scenes for this? The lobby scene in Matrix and storming the beach in Private Ryan are the first two that come to mind.

Remember when Top Gun used to be the favorite movies to show off the surround?

Those days are over.

Good calls on Heat, didn't think about that.

I agree.. I like the older THX intros w/ the breaking glass, etc. Haven't seen one in a while and don't remember what movies had that intro.

T-Rex is a great one, wish they'd remaster it for DTS (or have they?).

'Blackhawk Down' has great sound for both the helicopters and various forms of gunfire.

'Transformers' sounds great as well.

I vote for 'Heat' and 'the Matrix' as well for the gun-battle scenes.

Pigface, when I was setting up my surround I dl'ed a bunch of dvd's made for this. They have all sorts of scenes from different movies and also some specifically designed by Sony. I'll have to hook you up with them

Not any particular scene, but the entire show of "Titan AE" is good. I had this movie before I got surround, and when I watched it again after, I was amazed. Totally different feel, and some really good music.

Don't remember the name of the movie but it's the one where Bruce Willis plays an assassin. The scene where he shoots the dudes arm off with a 50 calibre machine gun. Seriously cool.

The one I always use is a shoot out from The Matrix.

Its the one where they walk through the metal detectors with the 20 guns. Then it ends with a fire bomb.

Bullet casing coming from every speaker.

I didn't care for Master and Commander, but apparently I need to see it again.

That scene is awesome on a high end home theater system.
