As a kid of the late 60's-early 70's those pics brought back alot of memories. Had more than a few of those cars in Hot Wheels. My favorite Don "Snake" Prudhomme in the Army car. Had the pleasure of meeting him at the Englishtown Summer Nationals when he drove the Pepsi funny car. Also met John Force when he was a rookie Funny car Driver. Damn Im getting old.

For me 70's drag racing was the best. I raced a 67 B/Super Modified Camaro in NHRA's Modified eliminator from 1976 to 1982. This picture was taken in 1976 at Edgewater Raceway near Cincinnati.

Really surprised not to see the Sox & Martin Cuda in that group.
Or did I miss it?

Lots of cool pictures though.

At least back then the Funny Cars still looked like cars, not the abortions that they are today. Same for the Fuelers, clean sleek lines.

I still prefer most of the 60s cars, There was nothing like the A/GS "wars" between Big John, Stone-Woods-Cook, Ohio George, Jack Merkel and others. Likewise the AA fuelers were beautiful machines driven by the best. Garlits, Muldowney, Robinson, Baltes, kallita, Prudholme, McEwan, Frantic Four and many others -

My dad was a funny car mechanic in the late '60s, early '70s, so I spent much of my youth at the track. I remember a lot of those cars.

Wow, those pics bring back lots of memories. I saw many of those cars in person. I was running a 1970 HemiCuda in SS/DA back then. It seems like a million years ago.
