I really like visiting the Air Force Museum. I was last there two years ago. I'll have to take the Vette for a cruise there this summer.

Great pix.

Went there a couple years ago. I'll have to look for my pics.
TOUGH to take decent pictures in there. I was having a hell of a time with the lighting

I have a funny story about that place. I was 7, and we went to visit family in Ohio. ( 1972?)we dcided to visit the new museum at W/P. We drove in past a gaurd shack in a 1969 Ford station wagon, packed with 5 kids from my family, Mom, Dad, my uncle and a cousin. The gaurd salutes us as we drive through. No one else around. We stroll into a large hangar with some WWII bombers there, partially draped with covers. We start looking around, and this officer (? rank, I was 7 ) comes up and says " who the hell are you, and what are you doing here?" Dad cooly starts introducing all of us, and mentioning his time in Germany with the 3 rd army in WWII. This officer turns beat red and shouts "President Nixon is due in here tomorrow to host a grand opening of this museum- it is not open to the public yet, and you all have got to leave!!" Well, we left, and that was the only time I have seen the museum. We still laugh about that trip. Chevy Chase has nothing on us!!

Looks like you got behind the scenes.
Nice pics on the Mig-25. You're right, the pics don't do it any justice. I'm amazed about how big that thing was.
Looks like they moved the other planes away from it, it was packed in tight with 2-3 other planes and I couldnt get a good pic of it.
How'd you like the 'Belle?

nfshotrod ; you have violated forum rule #24:

"Anyone visiting the USAF Museum in Ohio is to post their intentions -in advance- in the Great Lakes section... so the forum members in that area can organize a GTG (get-to-gether)."

For Chrissss Sakes; I only live 15 minutes from the museum...

Wife and I went and that place was cool. Wish we had another day to spend there at least. We will be going back one day.

Love me some gun ships

I'll do most of the prep for you... just need someone else to take the lead this time.

Let's do this !
