Default How do they make fancy posts on Craig's List?

The Craig's List roster of things for sale is pretty uneventful. But occasionally you see somebody that has ASCII characters in a posting to get attention to it.

What's the trick?

And also, how do they make active links inside a post? Does the CL site allow you to use HTML code within the post, to create a posting that looks like a website?

Inquiring minds wanna know .... before the San Diego area gets another earthquake! (3 last night)

Haven't seen them, but from the CL help section, it looks
like you can use standard html tags.

Link

Edit - the html code for linking to another page is included in the list of tags above.

Yes, you can use HTML tags on CL. Did it for my listing, worked out great.

The answer is both a yes and a no. There are certain HTML tags it will not recognize or reject.

And, if you have a nicely done HTML ad and someone else is selling soemthing very similar to it with just the canned plain ole stock listing, you may get flagged and it gets removed. Happened to me on several occasions.

CL is good and not so good - depends on what you are selling.... Hot items reasonable priced (a little below what you might see on Ebay) generally move pretty quick, or at least in my past experience.

Good Luck ----->

I'm just trying to run regularly issued ads in the San Diego area like all the hundreds of other computer repair geeks do. I need ads that are like my company website - direct, appealing, and targeted to my clients of choice.

The list is full of the "WILL FIX YOUR COMPUTER FOR $30" crack heads. But very few pro's.

Actually you can buy or sell from any place in the world. It's just that you can only look at one location at a time.

Seeing as someone started a thread with my Corvette listed in Texas last week

Mind you I had like 10 listings and I think 8 were flagged through the course of the week

If everything goes well, I'll have a vette in a couple days, and some other guy who used to have a vette will have my GTO.

I'll let him know, but my powerslots still have a lot of life left in them...
