For training purposes, yes, that would be a poor name.

I have had Jake, Kate, Kane, Zeke, Val (the gal) and others, cats get two syllables sometimes, like Oscar, Betty ETC.

Of course cats and dogs have three names always, a using name and a naming name and a name that only dogs and cats speak. (bonus if you know what movie that was from)

The cats seem to pick the names by the way they act, we have a Super Kitty, a Spooky, a Gray (not because he is Gray, but he is like a Alien cat), Slantnose, Oscar and big foot. and a bobble head to name a few.

What you should do is get the dog and wait a few weeks before naming him. Se what he is like, how he acts and maybe come up with a name that fits his personality.

We've always done this. Our Papillon Simon's full name is Simon Barsinister. The older farts here will "get it."
