Default Back from Cancun

We were down there the past couple of weeks, went to Chichen Itza to see one of the pyramids and Mayan ruins, met a ton of people during the stay, and even got to throw a few back with Fastguy. Small world.

Many of you guys were right, it is extremely dangerous out there. One day I missed some spots with my sun block and had to stay out of the Sun for the next few days. Also, every time I'd make a new friend from the UK, I'd have to introduce them to Mezcal and we'd end up shooting it all night. No way that's safe.

It seems like you'd been posting from there on facebook for weeks. I was starting to get pissed, "doesn't this dude have a job?"

Glad you had a good time.

Good times. We spent 9 days in Play Del Carmen at the end of December.

Back at work now. We were there for two weeks, not quite long enough since I was just starting to get a nice tan.

We may do Playa next year. If I can some how get my wife to dive, I'd like to go to Cozumel, but that's a long shot.

I did spend a three day weekend in Houston. It's kind of like Mexico without any of the good parts.

We did Cozumel last December. We didn't SCUBA but we did take a sailboat out snorkeling. It was pretty cool.

We snorkeled with some sea turtles this past trip to Playa. That was fun. We also went to the ruins in Telum.

I'd rather drive cross country with my kids crying the whole way in the back seat.

At least you're only exposed to the germs from your own family instead of legionaire's and the other crazy diseases they spread around on those infection factories.

It would have been significantly better if USC hadn't been swept by Rice at baseball.

So how many times did you get kidnapped while there? Did Bomar pay your ransom ?

Love it down there.

I've got a trip to Grand Cayman in April. Can't wait.

We wanted to do Tulum and Xel Ha, but already did Chichen Itza. That's a long trip, 2.5 hours into the jungle each way and makes for a long day, but it was incredible!

Sailboat and snorkeling is great! I've done that in the Caribbean and would do it again in a heartbeat.

I don't have a problem with some cruise ships. There are the ones like Carnival that are cattle carts and there are ones like Cunard that are 5 star. It's just that I'd rather stay somewhere and have no desire to spend a few hours at a port and then have to leave again. If we go, I'd like to find one where the ship is heading back to its original destination and is at sea for a week. Cheaper and I'm not getting off the ship in the first place.

I'd go again but since I've been a few times I admit that there's several other places I'd hit up before going back. I had a blast when I was there so I'm not knocking it.

As far as being dangerous...I mean he11 when the wife and I were out in San Francisco we road over into Oakland and enjoyed ourselves but you can get your azz capped there too if in the wrong place at the wrong time. They've got really bad gang issues for sure.

I'm gonna have to pass on Oakland. This was my wife's first time to Cancun and we did Cabo a couple years ago.

We actually did see a guy die. Guy decided to swim in the ocean and disregard the red flags. He went too far out, started struggling, and the lifeguards pulled him in and did CPR for probably 30 minutes. A lot of women were crying and it was pretty sad, but a stupid way to go.

Check out this website and video. We did this. The zip lines are awesome.
