Default Animation of all the Nuke explosions over the globe and by who. Can't be real right?

This is something online that shows all the nuke locations that were tested/used in war and the countries behind them. In the upper right corner it is the month/date and bottom right is the total number of nukes.

This seems like so many that we would all have 3 heads but maybe it is true.

Its a interesting way of putting the video together and really shows how crazy humans are

I'd say it is true. At least most of those constant blinking lights in the SW US were underground. Just don't do any caving in the SW.

There's a great documentary called Trinity and Beyond, about the early US testing program. It's amazing.

I remember as a kid not be allowed to drink milk because of the nuclear fallout from Chinese a-bomb tests falling in the pastures of PA!

Most of the later bombs were fairly clean radioactively speaking and were detonated underground.
Radioactive fallout tends to be a fairly localized problem with the heaviest fallout occurring within a few miles of the event.
As long as the bombs were detonated a reasonable distance from populated areas then the threat of radioactive contamination is fairly limited.
Some of the earlier bombs were extremely messy, especially the early thermonuclear devices where they were attempting to initiate nuclear fusion and weren't quite sure what to expect.
We've only limited information on early Russian detonations, but rest assured if ours were messy theirs were likely orders of magnitude worse as they were only copying our technology not developing their own.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I don't know if they even counted the one (if not more???) that they exploded in the atmosphere

Crazy how many total tests there have been... I wonder why Russia spread theirs all over the country, instead of keeping them confined to a smaller area like us...
