I did some stuff for a buddy of mine a few days last week, and of course he can't just say thanks and be done with it, he stops in last night and drops off a case of Troegs Perpetual IPA. http://www.troegs.com/our_brews/perpetual_ipa.aspx

All I had in the fridge cold was Sierra Nevada Stout and Pale Ale, so we worked on those a little. He 'worked' a little more than I did, but that's ok too

I've heard good things about Troegs although I've never had it. We don't get it here in MO. Nugget Nectar is supposed to be great.

Found this at Costco today. The box includes one-each of the following:

Samuel Adams - Honey Queen
This harmonious blend of mead and beer gained notice during medieval times, dating back as far as the 12th century. The combination of three unique honeys and the complexity of the hops and chamomile in this Braggot create a whimsical brew that is floral with a tart sweetness and a much awaited honey finish.
7.5% ABV, 10 IBUs

Samuel Adams - Third Voyage Double IPA
This unique double IPA takes the styleís origins a step further. IPAs were born out of making an ale that could sustain a long voyage. For our take, we were inspired by the indomitable Capt. James Cook whose 3rd voyage made him the first to navigate a treacherous route from England to New Zealand to the Pacific Northwest. Using Cascade hops from each of these regions we created a brew thatís citrusy, earthy and full of bold character.
8% ABV, 85 IBUs

Samuel Adams - Verloren
Samuel Adams continues to expand their Small Batch Series in 2012. On the schedule is Verloren, and gose. There arenít a lot of U.S. brewers making a gose, especially a brewery as large as Boston Beer. Thatís probably why they dubbed it ďVerlorenĒ or ďlostĒ beer . (Itís Dutch.) The style originated in Goselar, Germany in the 18th century. Gose became very popular the adjacent city of Leipzig, Germany due to a lot of local breweries brewing the style. Gose all but died out during WWII due to brewery closings. Expect this beer to have a touch of sourness, with notes of lemon & salt. A link to the ales of Saxony that had all but vanished, Gose is a peculiar yet captivating brew. With a base of an unfiltered wheat ale, itís vivid and refreshing yet also has a softness to it. The flavor is brought to life by an unexpected touch of salt for a mineral quality, and coriander for a peppery spice. The result is an unusual and delicate brew thatís full of flavors to discover.
6% ABV, 15 IBUs

Samuel Adams - Imperial White
This golden concoction begins with the soft sweetness of its witbier roots with hints of orange and citrus. Yet these familiar flavors are taken to the next level with an exotic blend of spices reminiscent of medieval brewing. From coriander to dried plum and anise the spices combine with a bolder, richer flavor for a warm, spicy brew thatís smooth and refreshing.
10.3% ABV, 15 IBUs

Four bombers for $19.99!

This is a pic from last week, but I picked up two more bottles of Enjoy By today. I just couldn't pass it up for $5.99 a bottle. Such a great beer!

I will be interested to hear your thoughts on these as I haven't been real impressed with Sam Adams small batch stuff like this. To me it seems like they are trying to be more edgy without the commitment if you know what I mean

and that is an awesome way to explain it. They want so bad to be a "craft brewer" but love being the 400# gorilla.

Sorry Sam - you can't have it both ways. Plus, there are way too many breweries out there now days putting out great beers for me to waste my time on a Sam Adams brew. I like giving my money to the little guys and trying to help them grow at this point.

That being said - if I could find about 6more bottles of this...I would be a very happy person.

Hmmm, with as many Troegs as I've had, I don't recall Nugget Nectar. Might have to see if it's available next time I'm at Wegmans.
