Default Those snuggly, lovable Pit Bulls, at it again.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A woman has been arrested and charged after her two pit bulls attacked a man on the street in the Bronx.
The vicious attack on Belmont Avenue between E 187th and E 188th streets happened Friday evening, police said.
YouTube video of the incident shows two white pit bulls attack the man as he stood in the street.
The person walking the dogs can be seen trying to restrain them, but to no avail. The victim then falls to the ground as the dogs continue to attack.
As the video continues, neighbors step in to try and get the dogs off the victim while a person can be heard calling 911 to report the attack.
With the help of several good Samaritans, the bloodied victim is able to get away from the dogs after several minutes.

Police told 1010 WINS the victim, a 55-year-old man, was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.
Another man who stepped in to fend off the dogs was also injured in the attack and taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital, police said.
The pit bulls were taken to Animal Care & Control of NYC, authorities said.
The dogs’ owner, 55-year-old Cynthia Oliver, was charged with multiple counts of assault and reckless endangerment, police said.

Just wait, the apologists will once again be out to defend these useless animals, saying it was the way they were raised, owner's fault, kid jumped in the yard (NOT in this case), etc, etc, etc.

Even with video the excuses will just poor out of the ignorant.

Just a chaotic scene. Woman who owned dogs belongs in jail. Dogs should have been on a leash. The woman who owned the dogs was not strong enough to hold the one dog who was on a leash, much less two dogs.

Tragic case of idiot owner with aggressive dogs. It could have been any breed. There are just too many pit bulls out there from over breeding.

It could have been a lot worse, if it wasn't for all of the people who came to his rescue. This is why, dogs should never be out with leashes.

Good that she's being charged and she should be required to pay the medical bills for those injured. And IMO, those dogs should be put down.

I honestly advocate that. Any owner whose dog kills another human being should be exterminated. That will cut down on these inherently evil breeds.

Why stop there? Kill the kids of parents who commit violent crimes. Parents too? Why not third cousins and the next door neighbors?

Don't let yourself be so easily influenced by the media. Try and think for yourself!

Family of little girl attacked by dog calls their pit bull a hero

Screen shot WPTV News

According to WPTV News, a West Palm Beach, Florida, family is calling their pit bull a hero after he managed to chase off a neighbor's dog who was in the midst of attacking their little girl.

Last Saturday, five-year-old Remayah was riding her bike when a neighbor's Labrador retriever mix attacked; before the girl's mother could run outside to chase the dog away, the family's own pit bull named "Trigger," jumped into action. Almost as soon as the attack started, Trigger jumped a fence and attacked the dog who was attacking the little girl.

The Labrador retriever mix inflicted serious facial wounds to the child, but the family is certain that Trigger's quick actions saved her from further injury.

The dog who belonged to the neighbor was seriously wounded when Trigger attacked and he was picked up by animal control and later euthanized.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say she's not going to br able to afford to pay any medical bills...

Pretty intense video. That was a lot of blood. Its hard to judge when you're not in that specific situation, but I was surprised no one was trying to punch the dogs in their heads or something.

Oh and it's not the dogs, it's the owners...

And with all of the chaos and people running around trying to fight off the dogs, you better hope you don't accidentally shoot someone.

Today's report says the woman actually released the dogs on the 62 year old guy after an argument.

The "its how they are raised" argument has validity, but the frequency of these breeds and violence against people is disturbing, I'm sorry. And I'm a big animal supporter.

When those dogs are in attack mode they are so focused you could hit them over the head with a frying pan and they wouldn't even notice it much less a punch from a fist.
