Sunspot region 3590 gave rise to a major solar flare a couple of days ago, the largest solar flare in years. This photo taken in my front yard an hour ago at an effective focal distance of about 1400 mm.

Camera body was a Canon R7 mirrorless (crop sensor); lens was Canon RF800 f/11; 95mm Thousand Oaks Optical Solarlite solar filter on lens; camera/lens mounted on a cheap tripod.
Exposure was manual at 1/320 sec, f/11, ISO 1600. Raw image processed in Photoshop.

It's good to know I'm not the only one who takes pics of gelato.

The day my wife was discharged after 8 days in the ICU and another four in a regular room. 12 days. I came home to an empty house and the cat. I didn't know if I'd see my my bride again for a few of those nights. Me and that cat were so happy to have her home. Hard to explain emotion in that picture.

Joe, glad things are on the mend! Hopefully you both will soon be able to look back at this as a bump in the road. My wife had surgery in January and our cat was glued to her side afterward. Your picture captures it well.

Last Monday I took a photo of the nebula M42 in the Orion constellation. I goofed up and had my Nikon D5300 set for JPG images instead of RAW. I took twenty, 30 second exposures and stacked them. My telescope is a Astro-Tech 115mm triplet refractor on a Sky Watcher EQ6-R mount. For a FIRST try, I'm pretty happy with the photo. Now I'm back waiting for clear skies again before Orion disappears below the horizon.
