With that said, today I switched to iPhone 7+ purely for group messaging. Wow, iOS is way behind android, imo. In fact, it's way behind my 2 year old Nexus 6. Doing anything is extra step or two. I have to go into settings to turn on/off bluetooth, wifi and GPS! I don't even know where the flashlight is. I also miss my widgets. Fingerprint read isn't reliable enough. I miss swype. meh.
Everyone has their own preferences. I'm with you I can't stand apple. The sheep aren't going to turn on/off bluetooth, wifi, gps. They simply leave it all on and forget about it. It tailors well to the sheep.
