Sneaky little bastages

I have rats in my shop so I set up four of these little traps with peanut butter. This is what I found this morning.

What have you used that works?

Did you use smooth or chunky? Peter Pan or Jif? It makes a difference.

I have Tomcat glue boards for mice, not rats. They work really well on spiders and anything that crawls too, even chipmunks can't escape them.

Shame on you for wasting perfectly good Snickers like this. If you're going to use candy to lure rats into a trap you should use Raisinets or some such other, inferior treat.

Subdued light, a comfortable chair and my trusty pellet pistol. Works every time and easily adjust for size of rat-mice.

Victor snap traps & chunky Peanut butter. The cheaper brands, like the Tomcat, just bounce off 'em. Get a bunch & put them along walls and where they are getting in.

I've caught a few in glue traps & a Havahart live animal trap too. Problem with these is you have to kill the sucker if you find it before it dies on its own.

Go to your grocery store, and pick up some peppermint extract, and pour little amounts around baseboards.
That will keep them away.

They hate the smell of peppermint.

Bob, do you know this because you knew who they were before coming back as rats or because they actually told you this while they're rats?

I think the Op is looking to liquidate a few MICE, not rats. But, same principal I guess.

I have two furry friends at home who are on the job 24/7 taking care of issues like this for me.
