Booking a couple of charter fishing trips for March and April. It's nice to live in central Florida as there is quality fishing in both directions.

March will be on the Crystal River, going for reds, sea trout, etc. in the skinny water. Might change that over to a Gulf trip for bottom feeders, we'll see.

April will be another Atlantic trip, this time likely out of West Palm as we've had success there -- very little run time for marlin, sailfish, etc.

Continuing my winter project of painting the interior of our house - every square inch (other than the floors) needs to be done...

I have a friend who is a police dispatcher in Ohio. He shared this recap of a call the other night.

Here is a little tip for anyone planning to go out shoplifting at Walmart.

1. Don't use a rear wheel drive 4 cylinder car when 4 inches of snow just came down. You won't get away, and your car will end up in a ditch.
2. Dress warm. Running away from the car in a ditch, through the snow, in a field is just plain stupid when you don't even have a coat on.
3. You probably shouldn't be out stealing when you already have warrants. Especially if you are only stealing $20.00 worth of junk from a Walmart.
4. Running from the cops, with warrants, after crashing a car you borrowed, with no driver's license, gets you a stay in the People Zoo.
5. And no. You weren't arrested because of your race.

Had the TSB for the diff oil done yesterday - no more clunk sound when turning!

Took the Vette out for a short drive, low 50s, top down-heater on. Cross wind was tough. Almost like being on the scooter.

Went by the florist and picked up a red rose for my Valentines Sweetie!

Completed yard work or as much as I wanted to complete.

Plans tonight - have Italian delivered, drink wine, and watch "Standing in the Shadows of Motown".

This morning I sat down and created the schedule for this season's fishing competitions. Our team is planning to participate in 35-40 weigh-ins over the 4-month Salmon tournament season, in harbors up and down the Lake Michigan coast. Costs for entry fees will be up a little this year, but so will purses if we're so fortunate to win.

Last year was interesting -- our team finished at the top of the heap in several low-paying events, but we were just out of the money in the major events. That was the opposite of the year before, so there was a $4,000+ swing in profit/loss.

I am getting the itch to get back to competing, though. Just 3 short months away and the season starts! Our first tournament is a big one with about 80 boats & teams competing...

Here's a couple of our guys holding nice examples of freshwater Chinook salmon we caught last August. Those fish won us some money!!

There was also a chart floating around my workplace, about 15 years ago, that graphed the amount of time you lived after retirement, based on the age at which you retired. The gist of it was, the sooner you retired, the longer you lived....
