Default Backyard Project

We put in a pool back in I think '04? When we did it, we just put the pool equipment over in the corner and put a 4 foot fence around it. Since then I've added a backup generator for the house over there. Kind of an eyesore.

My Dad offered to come over and help me build a shed over it. This year I had to replace all of the equipment, I figured this would protect it from the sun and elements, and we added a small changing room, so the kids friends weren't running into the house all the time etc..

Before:

My Dad loves building sheds, he found this tin from some chicken farmer that tore down some 40 year old chicken coops. Got the doors/windows at an antique mall for cheap. I think it turned out pretty good. Just finishing the inside of the changing room and a few more details, and we are good to go!

Feels good to re-puprose, I'm sure.
I guess that would look good if you're going for the double wide Pinterest artsy look. But based on your past pictures and taste, I'm sure your backyard and home are not that.
Good luck when you have tear out some pool plumbing. Hope it breaks down easy.

So you put a generator in a shed? Hmmm I'm pretty sure that's a very bad idea.

Did you notice the exhaust stack on the roof?

Haha.. Like I give a **** about re-purposing.. I leave my car running in my driveway all day on Earth Day.. just to **** of the enviromentalists, I guess you'd have to see the pool area. We have some concrete palm trees, and a rock waterslide. Kinda going for the Caribbean shack look. It fits well.. plus as a bonus, when you are building a Caribbean shack, the corners don't have to match, if paint splatters you leave it.

I see someone is paying attention. I'm a VERY careful meticulous person. I called the city and made sure it was inspected, and everything is up to code. ALL by the book.

With just a quick glance I think I spotted about 65,000 code violations.

I'm with you on the environmental issues. I pour diesel fuel around the perimeter of my house to keep the bugs and weeds down, Don't overdue it, can bleed into the soil and stink up the house.

Anyway, I'm sure my backyard is much shittier than yours and my wife would kill me if I built something like that in the backyard. But, if it make you and your Dad happy, screw it.

Oh, and copy of the permit please.

Did you allow for plenty of make up air? Pool heater and gen set are designed to be outdoors in free circulation of air..Maybe you could remove the fence behind the shack and remove the back wall also?
