9 ball, good gambling game, can be handicapped for different abilities and is fast moving. I have a bunch of jointed cues but prefer a good one piece with correct taper and tip.

Yep. Have had a nice table for more than 25 years. Will play anything. Mostly 8 and 9 ball though.

Cue is a 25 year old Muecci with a Predator shaft. Have worn out three shafts over the years.

I get my table recovered every four years with new cushions every 8 years.

I need mine redone as we disassembled for the move and had many yrs on it. What is the going price these days? I was told 4-500 with parts.

I used to play some but don't have time to anymore. I looked into buying a gold crown for here at the house but I haven't pursued that. I have one that's all restored waiting to come here if I ever decide to do it.

I've had a number of cues over the years, I have three now. 1 is my first McDermott. I have a Samsara that I had made special, and a few years ago, don't ask me why, but I bought a nice Jacoby and had a predator shaft made for that. Probably shot with it a grand total of 5 times and it sits in the case.

as to preference of games, straight pool, 9 ball, cribbage, 8 Ball in that order. I pretty much consider 10 ball the same thing as 9 ball. And I really don't care for the tediousness of one pocket.

I play from time to time. Usually 8-ball. Once in a blue moon I am virtually unbeatable. The rest of the time I blow.

last time I had it recovered with new cushions installed, it was more like $800. But I use very good cloth and top of the line cushions.

I had a very nice Joss with a Predator shaft.
Worth roughly $1k
I stopped playing when I started to wear glasses as my game went downhill.

Played 8-ball, 9-ball, one pocket, 3-cushion, straight pool and a little snooker.
I really enjoyed 3-cushion the most.
Also played in the AMA which is called the CPA here and the Valley league as well as 2-3 tournaments a week.
Even played and hung out with Alex "The Lion" Pagulayan as his home pool hall was Le Spot in Scarborough when he moved here.

Grew up with a 4.5x9’ Brunswick playing straight pool, 8-ball, and one-pocket.
Never liked 9-ball. Haven’t played in a few years but still have my Meucci cue.
Nearly all of the pool halls I enjoyed visiting as a kid are long gone.

8 ball for money during college in the 70's and then for about 10 yrs after that in bars....helped pay the bills.

But when I got sober, I had very few places to go that I could handle being around alcohol.
Too bad....really enjoyed the game.

Pool is huge here in the Philippines. I played Efren Reyes a few weeks ago. He enjoyed taking my money. I did beat him a few times.

Used to play a lot when I was younger.

Mostly 8 ball and straight pool. Golf is a great game on the table for speed and positioning.

Palmer original from mid 70's.

I had a friend that owned a balabushka, yes it was very pricey, Remember him playing near $1,000 back in 1970..give or take a few years.

I owned a second catalog model "J" with the Gus Szamboti forearm. Just sold it last year.

I used to play with the New Jersey one arm champ. I learned from him the importance of speed and ball positioning. He could run rack after rack always leaving the cue ball along the rail for his one arm stroke.

http://www.palmercollector.com/ModelJ.htmlMy Palmer in the day was $135 which wasn't cheap, most cues where will under $100.

During the height of the dot com boom, late 1990's my Palmer evaluated at 95% new shape, I was offered $3,000. I turned it down ....should of sold it then.
