I had my voicemail deleted completely. I do not want messages, do not need messages. When a caller goes to VM for me, they get the "This user has a voicemail box that hasn't been set up". Translation, "f off ahole".

The above doesn't block texts, but I think you can make it do that also. I let them on, it's no big deal. That way when people I actually want to talk to get my VM, they can text me to say hey spazzy, answer the phone.
Nothing says customer service like not being able to leave a message with a business, your certificate from my customer first seminar will be mailed.

On a serious note, how are your customers, vendors, associates and friends supposed to communicate when you don't answer? Do you call back on missed calls or are they expected to call back?

I use an app called hiya that does a pretty good job.

Although Android itself has been getting better and alerting to spam or suspected spam calls.

I use Call Control. Works pretty well, I also have it set for spoofing. If my phone number was 276-345-xxxx it will block all 276-345 calls

I usually ignore them. But every once in a while I'll answer and speak to them in a foreign language, usually French or Italian. It's really interesting to hear them get frustrated when you ask them to speak to you in a language other than English.

I usually press the number to talk to somebody and then when they answer I try to order a pizza, Girl Scout cookies, etc. They get so confused and on a lucky day they even get mad. You ever hear a “person of the sand” try to cuss in English? It’s quite hilarious.

Same with me. It does get to be a PITA!!

my business has a landline phone.
none of my customers have my cell phone number.
I don't think any of my vendors have my cell phone number.
Associates are in my contact list so they will come through.
I don't have friends, they are overrated.

back when I was 8 they didn't have cell phones. I did just fine. I don't need to talk to people or be at their beck and call every moment. Often times if I know someone's going to call me who is not in my address book I will disabled my do not disturb. I have a truck arriving tomorrow morning somewhere between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. at work. The driver contacted me today to say so. I put his number in my phone because it's possible he may need me for something, so I have that covered.

see how easy that was?

Yes, that's exactly what the local cops told me when I asked about these phone calls. They flip just enough of the money to police organizations to make it legal but keep much if not most if it for themselves.

"This is Detective Hathaway with the Blount County Homicide division, you've called an active crime scene, I'm going to ask you to remain on the line, this phone has recorded your number, and I've given it to one of my officers, law enforcement local to you will be contacting you momentarily, and this call is being recorded for evidence. First, let me ask you, exactly how do you know the deceased?"

I answered both questions. I told you I have a landline so if someone wants to get a hold of me for work, they can call me at work. Otherwise I don't need to talk to them. For the second question, see the answer to the first question. I don't deal with people I don't know. I don't deal with the general public. I have no desire to deal with the general public. And I do not use my cell phone for business.
