While it may be true that money isn’t everything, it’s still the best way of keeping score. So I wliil prolly by a ticket if I happen to be someplace that sells them, with the understanding that my odds of being struck by lightening and surviving are about 100 times greater than winning the jackpot.

Edit: I was wrong. The odds are longer than that.
The Mega Millions odds are 1 in 302.6 million. That's more than 2,000 times less likely than being killed by a lightening strike or an earthquake.

What's crazy is people DO win jackpots. If you look at historical winnings...usually there are about 10-12 people per year that win these huge jackpots...and if no one wins for like 2-3 mo...then it gets huge like this.

Having financial freedom can be HUGELY rewarding and happiness-inducing.

Obviously winning this much money comes with a whole another set of problems on its own....

And the millions who buy the tickets still believe the lotteries are not internally managed. Dreamland occupants for sure.

I bought 3 tickets with the megaplier. The estimated cash is $513,400,00.00. I won't be able to quit my day job, but that should help.

And after Uncle Sam takes his cut...it's gonna be like 250M or so from the cash lump sum....I'll be able to make a dent in my student loans at this rate.....

I used to work with a guy who refused to buy lottery tickets, but not for any reasons like stated above. He didnít like the fact that effectively he would have to give up 50% or so in the form of taxes.

I always figured WTF?

If youíre winning 50-300 milllion and you have to pay that kind of tax, youíre still 25-150 million ahead of where you were........

If in the unlikely event I win, I'll let you know that I won, and I won't give you a fricking dime. Sound good?
