I'm east of Sac, by 50 (but I'm in Los Gatos now). Friends up by Lincoln (highway 80 and 65) say they can see it and smell it.

You can, but you have to buy a new house every year.

That is the Butte county fire I think, we had smoke all the way down to the Tri Valley (Livermore area) today. One of the good things is, it is the only major fire in NorCal, so there are a lot of resources available to fight it, although the aircraft are having issues getting up with the high winds. Stay safe.

Thanks, as long as a local fire doesn't start, we should be fine.

Here is a satellite pic of the smoke and a red dot for about where I am. Lots of smoke around here.

I'm just a little north of you in Lake County. The sun was a faint orange dot in the sky today. It was more smoky here than it was when the Mendocino Complex fire was about two miles from my door step. From what I'm reading on the internet and seeing on the local news, the town of Paradise is basically gone. And Chico could be next.

My niece lives in Paradise and may have lost her home. They have evacuated to Chico where my other niece, my sis, and my Mom all live.
Hope they get it contained as the wind is blowing towards Chico.

This is certainly a horrible fire. I've seen news stories that talk about people trapped by the fire. I'm worried about loss of life with this one.

Terrible. I've seen something saying that 15,000 structures are at risk.

Woolsey Fire...people are trying to evacuate from Oak Park. They’re calling 911 to report they are trapped. Stuck in gridlock traffic and the fire is catching up to them. Incident Command is asking for ambulances in case of burn victims. They have said they are low on resources and structure protection is secondary now...saving lives/safety is priority.

It’s gusting badly here and single digit humidity. No relief from the wind until about 7:00 AM.

We’re not too close (about 7 miles as the crow flies) to the Woolsey Fire, but I can see the fire from the house.

Geez, I've got Hill Fire pretty much 2 blocks away but I am up wind. Daughter was in north Oak Park (downwind of Woolsey fire) and bugged out before orders came because of smoke and 6 week old baby. Good choice. Unfortunately she cant get to me as 101 fwy is closed and I've got cars packed and ready to go as it is.

I watched my neighbors house burn down, very helpless feeling when that bitch starts raging.

Was watching the news here this morning and they are saying they can't use helicopters to help fight the fire because of the windy conditions. Hope you are all doing well
