Uh since you have not been here too long. Not how it works in CFOT. If you have sensitive feelings you may want to try another car forum

When I saw the title I was going to make a bad joke then I read the details.

Glad she is OK.

Hawaii would be my recommendation.

You would have to understand the history of the OP to understand the reply.

As I stated I thought that same thing until I read the entire post and then I gave a serious reply.

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. Told her a few today at lunch but it sounds like she wants to go to Galveston (where we had our honeymoon 34 years ago ,me 20 and her 18).

Kindof funny story after our reception in Friendswood we drove down to Galveston and stayed at the Hotel Galvez. We saw a big wedding reception there in one of the ballrooms so we sat down at a table and started partying with everybody drinking and dancing. After an hour or two people at the table asked us who we knew from the wedding party and we said nobody we just got married ourselves and this looked like a fun party. They said ya'll have to go. We said seriously? And they said yes serriously (I mean what dicks,) so we got up and split to our room. So you can say me and my wife were the first wedding crashers in 1984.

Galveston does has some plusses the strand, the seawall, kemah, and moody gardens. But i'll tell her about the rest of the ideas ya'll came up with. What's nice is that I have hilton honor points for hotel.

I feel free to rip on Gizzer regularly, but this is not the thread for that.

Glad you wife is OK Bill. Hawaii is great if you have never been there. Lots to see and do. It is not a short flight though, so it may be a better destination for next year when she is fully recovered.

Good luck!

If she wants to go to Galveston, then that's where you should go.

Opened this just to read some of the suggestions, wow, that's not the op I was expecting.

Sorry to hear that Bill. It's good to hear she's back home and out of the woods so to speak. I'm no help on the warm destinations, but best wishes to both of you for your anniversary.

God Bless her.
Sounds like Galveston is the destination. Maybe because she’s not up for a long travel.

However, if y’all are up for it, fly into Ft. Myers, rent a car and drive over the bridge to Sanibel Island...go north to Captiva. It is Very mellow and laid back. Have dinner at the Mucky Duck on the beach. Join the sunset celebration with cocktails that happens every evening.
