Default Fleetwood Mac minus Lindsey

So, Lindsey Buckingham is fired. The bands manager called him to tell him. Mick Fleetwood said he doesn't like the word fired and won't use it, really? Who ties your shoes? Stevie allegedly said, either he goes or I go. Spoiled brat. Can't even tell him in person, wow.

I’ll reserve comment until I learn of their political affiliations

This happened several months ago, the rumor at the time was that he didn't want to go on tour again so they told him fine, they'll go without him. He denies this now but who knows how it really went down. I saw them in 1997, a few years ago and I have tickets for this tour in February. I love the band, even though it won't be the same I also won't pass up a chance to see them live while I still can.

Not that hardcore but have they been relevant since Rumors? I guess Mick's broke again and needs a payday.

Stevie fills more seats than Lindsey. That said, they've already settled out of court, and are talking about working together again.

I saw them live in Vegas at a smaller venue, which was nice, on Stevie Nicks' actual 60th Birthday. When it was live, I rolled my eyes, thinking "Uh huh...every show is your birthday I bet" but then it was actually true. Kinda like when I was certain the white tigers (before they ate Roy) on display were fake replicas, until one got up and walked around.

Anyway, I noticed they didn't play ANY of the British girl's songs that isn't with them any more. If they similarly eliminate any song he wrote or performed in, it'd limit their selection somewhat!

It's amazing they made things work for as long as they did. And as successfully. Pretty much everything that can go wrong in a band they had. I've always admired how they split songwriting on their albums. Stevie, Lindsay and Christine are all the sole authors of classic songs. They were great in their heyday.

How many bands stay together for an entire career with no lineup changes?

The only one I can think of is Rush - 40 years together (if you don't count John Rutsey, who left the band after their first album for health reasons).

At least for that many years. The original Fleetwood Mac was nothing like what they became with Lindsay and the women joined.

It is interesting that Mick Fleetwood, who has only a dozen or so song writing credits, has successfully rode this band for five decades, profoundly different sound/song styles, dozens of different members, many different lead singers, many times at each other's throats, including his...I don't know that he's got much in the way of musical talent...but he must be a pretty good manager/businessman...psychologist...
