A few for me:
1) Religion.if some dude really did come down from heaven and sacrifice himself, what is heaven really like; If not, do the dudes who came up with the whole religion thing realize how big of an empire they have built?
2) Natalie Holloway-- having been to Aruba a few times, the island people all seem so genuine and nice. How the hell did this happen and further, how did they not solve it yet? The stigma messed up tourism for that place from the US.
3) UFO's--there seems to be ample evidence they are real. Hell, NBM posting hour long videos constantly in PRC should be evidence enough. Assuming they are real, as speculated have they contributed to society by "helping" certain people invent things?
4) Why do people get so butthurt from words on their computer display instead of just ignoring them/

Funny, Emilia Erheart was the first thing that came to my mind. They found a shoe on that island, and it was her size and the right make. Other evidence was found, including a complete female skeleton that was her age and height. (she was tall back then at 5'7 or 5'8"). The skeleton was 'lost' subsequently, decades ago. One photo shows the receive antenna missing from the belly of her plane in the last photo ever taken of her. She was able to transmit (several people heard her mayday) but not receive any directions/aid. Sad.
We pretty much know what happened to DB Cooper.....some of his money was found in a river bed in very rugged country in 1980, badly decomposed. He jumped out of an airliner during a rainstorm in the dark of night at frigid temps and high altitude over heavily forested , high mountains with only a thin cheap suit on....and dress shoes. My guy tells me he got killed/impaled in a tree and became buzzard bait. If he DID manage to land, he probably died of exposure in less than 24 hours.

Amelia Earhart - there are some quasi-interesting "facts" that have been presented, but bottom line, that leg of the journey was done in by amateur-hour wingin-it logistics; she couldn't find the island, ran out of gas, and went to the bottom of the ocean... the end.

Amateur hour logistics?

Her navigator, Frank Noonan, laid out most of the cross pacific routes that the airlines still follow to this day. After the incident, for some reason his name was smeared and it was said he was an alcoholic. People who flew with him said it wasn't true. The aircraft flown out on the final leg wasn't the same one damaged in an aborted take off- it had different engine cowls and engines than her normal one. It also had around 750 miles more range than her own aircraft. And it wasn't sold to the public until almost a year later. But go ahead, believe the naysayers. If anybody on the flight was a weak link, it was Earhart herself. She had a habit of getting in over her head and screwing up, with her hubby's money to cover it.....but navigation wasn't an issue. That money hired the guy considered to be the best navigator in the world (until after the incident). No matter what the South Pacific vacation club called TIGHAR says.....
