Default What's the most intriguing "unsolved mystery"?

I just realized I have Roku on my TV. I've been watching old episodes of Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack round the clock. I love mysteries...so many of them are fascinating.

So what's your favorite unsolved mystery? A specific UFO or alien story? Sea creatures? What?

I think Amelia Earhart is fascinating. Rumors that she actually crash landed and became a prisoner on a Pacific Island.

Also, crazy sea creatures now being discovered. I truly wonder how big the biggest giant squid are. Are there really 100+ foot long squid?! Crazy. And that pre historic cousin to the Great White Shark (forget the name--like a 40 foot Great White). I wonder if there are a handful of them out there.

We know of all the big sea creatures and the big shark has been extinct for millions of years.

Amelia Earhart - there are some quasi-interesting "facts" that have been presented, but bottom line, that leg of the journey was done in by amateur-hour wingin-it logistics; she couldn't find the island, ran out of gas, and went to the bottom of the ocean... the end.

In terms of modern actual mysteries... The JonBenet Ramsey case, I've always found very intriguing. There is so much conflicting evidence. And I think the opportunity to solve it has passed.

I enjoyed most of the Robert Stack episodes, but I could only take the show but so seriously when they are doing stories on alien encounters and demonic possessions. Makes you wonder about the validity of the information presented on the more serious stories as well.

I hear there is going to be a run of new episodes produced by Netflix. I'll watch if it comes to fruition, but whoever they get to host, they won't measure up to Robert Stack.

DB Cooper jumping out of Boeing 727 with a bag full of money is interesting to me.
Never found the guy or his remains and he jumped in 1971.

Where my socks go after the laundry, and why do plumbers at the Whitehouse wear suits.

Yeah, but they found some of the cash. Granted it was upstream of where they think he jumped.
Personally I put it in the Amelia Earhart category... there are some interesting "facts" out there, but the totality of the situation is that he didn't survive the jump.

MH370. I think 99% chance it was a case of pilot suicide, but I wish they could find the wreckage.

I always liked "In Search Of" with Leonard Nimoy.

I play the home game... In search of...my 10mm socket, my long phillips driver bit, my tube of Super Glue, a pen in the drawer that actually writes...that kind of stuff.

I second the DB Cooper vote.

The serial numbers on the bills were conclusively matched; it was definitely some of the money given to the hijacker.

Me too.

He'd do one hell of an episode featuring the C8.
