V8 is the only way to go. No way I would even consider a V6 variant of that car. Its already big heavy and not very nimble car, all it needs now is to be circumcised under the hood.

My friend had a gen5 fully loaded RS with a V6 / 6 speed manual trans, and it was plenty fast for the street.

What are you thinking the budget would be?

To the OP, the V6 does have decent power, but you have to get it with the manual trans. These engines respond very well to headers and exhaust.
Really? because the 'headers' are actually in the head. There is just a pipe connected to the head for exhaust.

Just went a test drove a 2015 V6 and a 2016 V8 but both Auto's...

wow I love the camaro and driving them was confirmation of that.

Without a doubt I LOVE the power of the V8 but I was shockingly surprised on how well the v6 performed. The price difference is quite large so I truly don't know if I would just keep saving for the V8 when the V6 was as fast as it was.

Luckily I have plenty of time to make the decision but I wasn't expecting the pep out of the v6 that it was able to deliver. No matter what though im not getting an Auto... they are just so boring... I think between a V6 and a manual it will give me all the performance I realistically need and want.

Oh and out of pure curiosity... are there any other cars around the price/year of the V6 Camaro that has that kind of performance/fun?

No Hyundai's or Volkswagen's

Sounds like you need to convince the dogs first.

we 1990 now?😳
unless youíre serious about
tracking the car the modern day v6 with just a touch over 300hp is more than enough power for daily driving.
Anyone who says otherwise either hasnít test driven one or is full of ****.
