Default Anyone owned a 2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8?

I have a 2016 ford explorer sport with the ecoboost v6 and I love it but I have always liked the srt8's ...Wondering if anyone here has owned or owns one now and what they think about it?

Thanks

My friend has owned several over the years and he prefers driving them over some exotics he's owned. They're big and comfy, can haul the family/cargo, and can dust most cars stoplight to stoplight. Now he's got the ultimate - a Trackhawk.

You can tune that eco boost to outperform the SRT8. I really am considering buying one or the other of those.

I have a 2015 GC Limited. It's not the SRT, but I do have the Hemi engine and air suspension in mine, and the rest of it is fairly similar to the SRT. Comfortable, handles pretty well, although I'm sure that the SRT, with the 20" wheels and appropriate tires, handles even better. Mine has the HD brakes, and stops well, but again, the SRT has even more brakes, so stops better. I originally bought mine as a winter driver, but I've also taken a couple of "road trips" in it, during the summer, and it works well for that, too. Gas mileage is decent, for a 360 HP, 5000 pound behemoth.

While I really like the Trackhawk, I've never seen a fast engine.

What kind of mileage are you getting realistically? I never trust the window sticker.

There is someone on another forum who just bought one and says it is a beast. Just shy of $100,000.

An SRT8? No. Not close to that much

My buddy's wife had one. She liked it! It pulls hard from a dig.

I own a 15 SRT. It's fun to drive and very comfortable. I do mostly around town driving, and get about 13 mpg average.

I haven't checked it with pen, paper, and a calculator, the only numbers I go by are what the onboard computer shows. Overall, my average is shown as 15.5 MPG, and if I understand the system, that's a running average over the 4 years that I've owned it, and includes time spent idling in the garage, when I move it to get something else in/out of the garage, and just let it run, since I'm moving it back within a minute or two, any "full throttle" burst, when passing slow moving traffic, etc, etc.

There's also a "real time" fuel mileage monitor, which I think is a glorified vacuum gauge, and it reads out similar to the fuel mileage display in my C5. With that on the screen, and the cruise control set at 65 MPH, on relatively level ground, I have seen as much as 25 MPG. When I bought the Jeep, the sales rep said to leave it in "ECO mode", which is the cylinder de-activation mode. I'm puzzled by that logic, as I would think that all 8 cylinders working at a low level, would provide equal mileage to 4-5 cylinders working harder. I could be way off base, but for that reason, I leave the ECO mode turned off, and that's the fuel mileage I'm getting. And as the old saying goes, YMMV......

EDIT....one other thing, if it matters at all, my GC has the full time 4 wheel drive.

I'm guessing that's me you're referring to but it's not an SRT, it's a Trackhawk and I didn't pay $100k, it was $78k. almost $15k off of sticker.

To that point, OP unless you're looking at used SRT JGC's I wouldn't buy new unless you get a Trackhawk. They're going at deep discounts.

To answer your question I absolutely love it. It's got every option I ever wanted in a vehicle and my wife can daily drive it. Terrible gas mileage but it's the most practical vehicle I've ever owned. It has all the safety, the utility and the fun all in one package.

No, Iím referring to the guy who posted it. Since this is a thread about SRT8, he said it was a beast and paid close to $100K, which is ridiculous for an SRT.

As for the Trackhawk, mid 70s seems to be the going rate.

How do you like it?
